Which brand to get?

I'm frustrated. I bought a Blackjack with 16 mg cartridges (that's all they had) at the mall the other day. I'm trying so hard to quit smoking (this is day 3). I'm so frustrated with this thing. Everytime I inhale, i cough. It hurts, and I cannot get past this. I take long (5 sec) inhales and try to grab some air with it too. I'm not sure if this is the brand, or the mg's of cartridge?

I tried to contact the manufacturer 24-7 line and got a voice mail, wasn't sure what was going on with that.

Can someone please help me find a very mild brand of e cig that I can actually smoke?

Hey agilipuppy, sorry you're still having problems!

Have you tried inhaling into your mouth, and then into your lungs when you're done with the drag? I find that helps for me a lot. Direct lung inhales can be a little harsh for me too.

It could be the juice. You may want to try VG juices - they have a more mild throat hit. But if you're not having signs of nicotine overdose (dizziness, sweating, ........, nausea, etc), then it's probably not the nicotine level.

For a mild throat hit, I've heard the 901 is more mild. I can't confirm that, because I haven't tried it. What I have is the Kr808, which I love, but is known for having a pretty strong throat hit.

My first guess is that it is the crappy juice in the pre-filled cartridges. As other will tell you in few moments, get an eGo or 510 kit, some good e-juice and either blank cartridges or blank Carotomizers.

Depending on how much you used to smoke and what type, 12 to 24 mg juice should do it. Maybe a bottle of both till you find what work's. And be sure to drink lots of water.

Actually, you did say it was a 2-piece model, but let's make sure...

Looking at the 21st Century website they have three types of electronic cigarette:
-The Jackpot is a 3-piece
-The Pocket Ace is a 3-piece
-The Blackjack is a 2-piece

Do you know which one you have?

So I guess you have the Blackjack, which is a cartomizer model.
Based on the feedback in this new thread I would think you let it run dry.

Slow down a little bit, and let us help you.

Hello again Mistress Nomad! I think I might return this one and buy either the 910 or the 510 so I can do my own juice. It's hard because I have no clue where to buy these things, all I can find are online options. Do you know of any good online places to buy?

Hi DC2! I think the cigarette fits are getting to me. I AM freaking out, I don't want to buy a pack! Sorry I didn't see your last post. I'm on day 3 and am feeling a bit manic at the moment.

Yes, i have the blackjack 2 piece. I don't think it's empty, because I just changed the tip this morning, and started using it 3 hours ago. It's crackling and giving me vapor too. I guess I was expecting to be able to inhale something, not harsh, (I'm a very lightweight smoker) and get somethign to blow out too.

It's all right, it happens a lot with new vapers. Try the mouth hit advice as well as drinking lots of water. It sounds to me like you would really be better off with VG liquid. It gives off more vapor and less throat hit. I would suggest an eGo and a bunch of samples of liquids so you can find one that works for you.

I might have figured this out. When I first start the cartridge, it's very harsh. This morning, I was smoking it like a pro again. I think it's when these things are brand new, maybe stuff is flooded or not mixed. I am going to return this and get a better brand, since the CS wasn't so great with this brand, and I want to mix my own juice.
