My first MAP tank just arrived!

I've ordered a tubing cutter that will arrive tomorrow, but wasn't sure which cartomizers to buy as replacements.

Question 1: I keep reading that "steel XL" CE2's are required. The problem is that I'm having a hard time finding them in stock (aside from an occasional site that will only have one specific resistance available, and a lot don't even list what that is). Are the "black" models the same deal, as most of them seem to be listed as ceramic/steel? Are they able to be cut, and work as well as the "steel" type? If not, where do you buy your replacements?

Question 2: I've read that there's an revision 6 version out. Are those able to be used as well? Is that the same as what I saw one site call a CE2-X? If so, where might I be able to find them for sale?

Question 3: How far up the cartomizer casing do you make your cut?

Question 4: Should I PTB mod this before filling it, or does this wick so much better than an un-modded clearomizer, that it's probably not worth the fuss?

Question 5: What's your suggested resistance for a 3.7v device? I prefer flavor and vapor over TH, and use semi-thick juices. At the same time, I don't like to have to take a 10 second drag, to reach that point, so I don't mind a compromise.

Thank you so much for your help!

Ce2 cartos are out of stock just about everywhere but suppose to be back anytime.yes the black cartos will work, just peel back the black sticker and use some nail Polish remover or isopropyl alcohol to remove any glue.cutting the tube doesn't have to be exact. About a quarter inch. Just measure versus your old carto from the tank.I run 2.8ohm on my 3.7v device.for a little longer, cooler drag. 2.4 ohm works good also, a little hotter but don't have to take as long a drag. I beleive the ce2x is a clearomizer and no they will not work, wrong tube diameter
Hope this helps. And tank on!

Thank you, luv2vape.

I just filled her up, and left the 2.4 ohm cartomizer alone. This thing is a vapor machine! 2.4 seems a bit warm, and maybe removing some flavor, so I'm going to order some 2.8's, now that I know I can use the black ones as well. I wish I had thought to order a pre-cut replacement of each type, but coming from dripping on an 801 1.5ohm, I guess I didn't grasp the difference in how the tank would vape, compared to a standard atty.

I have to say, I'm extremely impressed with the build quality. "Tank" is an accurate description in more ways than just the size of it; a really solid build. It's also much easier to fill than the clearomizers. In fact it's incredibly easy, and quick.

I may be in the minority on this point, but I actually really like the way it looks on top of my Ego-T battery. It's big, and I'm sure people will give me looks when using it in public, but I'm used to that, and I don't ever mind answering people's questions about PV's, when they see me vaping. I actually look forward to giving smokers a safer, cheaper alternative, and try to steer them away from the absurdly overpriced mall kiosk types. When people hear they can pick up a starter kit for $30, their eyes light up. Toss in another $30 for a MAP tank, a bottle of juice, and you've got a nice, convenient setup, that can be used on the go, for about the same total cost as a carton of analogs.

Thanks again for the reply!

They were $75.00 a ct. here on sale a couple mo. ago. I remember when I was a kid I used to buy cars for $100.00. I would no more pay $75.00 a ct. for smokes than I would fly.

Yep. When I started it was similar. About $15 for a carton; under $10 for generics. Now it's about 8$ a pack, or more. That was only 20 years ago.

It's mostly tax, because rather than make a standardized increase in sales tax, our state government prefers to spike the "sin" taxes, fuel taxes, and other items purchased in low quantities, but frequently, that produce massive revenue over time, and make it so that buying a Jaguar doesn't incur much more tax percentage wise than buying a Honda, but dare you consume an item that the government frowns upon, you have to help make up for taxes that corporations avoid by creating their patents overseas, and other such exploitations done by some (not all) of the extremely wealthy individuals and groups.

/Not a wacko. In fact I'm quite liberal in most regards. I'm just your typical angry American that is fed up with such nonsense. I'd be pleased to have our sales tax doubled, reconcile the budget, but drop the "sin" taxes altogether, and make all purchases equal in the % price/taxed-amount. I don't want private yachts or jets to have a higher tax either, when purchased. As long as you can't write it off to avoid it, and pass the cost on to other 98% of the population.

//End political rant (sorry).

WOW, I feel old, I remember buying cigs out of a vending machine for 35 cents. I also remember gasoline being 10.9 cents a gallon too.

Remember standing in line, with gas coupons, for hours?

Yeah, the country is still run by idiots. It doesn't matter what year, or what political party is in charge.

They can "sin" tax my ecig from my cold dead hands.
