Ok. I am trying to make my decision as far as which Chi-You clone I plan on buying from fast tech to add to my collection. It is down to either the SS version for $27 or the brass one for $24. I have read the reviews and both are pretty high. But I figured I would ask here if there was any significant difference between the 2 in terms of quality, performance, durability, etc? Also, are they made by hcigar? Just wanted to gather more intell before I actually made my purchase. I also have heard some people have problems with them auto firing when using certain 18650 batts. Is that still the case? Any advice or info would be very much appreciated.

I picked up the SS due to ease of maintenance. Mine has never misfired, people may be mistaking misfire for button sensitivity/throw distance (if you do not screw the battery-post screw properly, and it protrudes too much, the throw will be small and you can easily "misfire).
If I am not mistaken, SS is a stronger metal in relation to brass, so your threading should last longer

Thank you for your response. Have you had any issues with autofires because you used certain types of 18650 batteries? Or did any of the batteries not quite fit right?

Not a problem.
I have used multiple batteries in the Chi You, and not once has it misfired.
Some batteries do not fit properly; specifically the ones with protective boards. My TrustFire's extend about 1-2mm in relation to other 18350 batteries (even their 18650's are longer than say an IMR) so although the top cap still fits, you can easily see the threading.

Save yourself the trouble and pick up some IMR's. I use Efests or Sanyos in all of my mods.
