Which clearomizer...???

Hello all. Great forum. Been lurking around here for quite a while and have gleaned tons of info from all of you. Thnx.

After smoking cigarello's (+14 a day) for over about 44 year's, I made the jump to vaping on this past Christmas Day and after vaping for the first time, I haven't touched a cigarello since. My wife and sweet daughter were both tired of our place smelling like a pool hall and they surprised me with a double set of Justfog 1453's and some juice for Christmas, which luckily I liked.

Now after vaping for almost 5 months, I'm ready to "move on up", so-to-speak, and purchase a bit more powerful rig (I think). I plan on buying two different mod's at the same time that way I won't be using the same mod all the time and will change them up on a daily basis. Having said that, I've had my eye on the SMOK Xpro M80 Plus and the Eleaf iStick 50W and the only thing stopping me from buying them immediately is that I can't figure out which clearomizer is best for these two.

I have no interest, time nor patience to be rebuilding coils, or sub-ohming and stuff like that. And while I think cloud chasing is cool, I mainly see that as, in my opinion, for the younger one's who vape. What I want is a clearomizer that will give me discrete clouds, a little more than the 1453 preferably, when I'm outside in public (I don't like drawing attention to myself) but give me some really great clouds when I'm home and I would like for the clearomizer to have a descent volume so I'm not always having to refill it all the time. I'd be happy with a volume of 3.5ml+ with BDC's or BVC's. Which ever doesn't vape huge ml's of juice each day and if possible, air flow control. And of course it would have to be able to handle up to 80W as that's what the Xpro M80 plus will do. And that's my problem right there. I haven't been able to find a clearomizer with the above spec's that will be able to be used on the iStick or the M80 and be able to handle up to the 80W. I would also consider buying two different clearomizer's, if need be. One for the iStick 50W and another for the Xpro M80. Or...am I seeing all this wrong? Bearing in mind that I don't consider myself an experienced vaper after having been vaping for only 5 month's. I'm not a rich man, but I don't mind paying for quality (I believe you get what you pay for. You buy gash...you get gash).

Having said all the above, I now get to the point of this post. I really need some expert opinion's and advice on which clearomizer would be suitable for the two mod's that I plan on buying. And whatever advice and opinion's I get will be most appreciated. Rest assured. TIA for you help and advice.

HI Mad. I can easily recommend two tanks for you. The Aspire Nautilus (5ml) or Mini (2.5 ml) with BVC coils is a great tank for flavor. I have 4 of the Mini's (to switch flavors often). In my opinion the Nautilus is probably the best tank out before the sub ohm tanks area.

The second tank I'd recommend is the Kanger Subtank Mini (4.5 ml). While it does have the deck for rebuilding, you can purchase the premade coils (I am using the 1.2 ohm coils with great satisfaction) If you desire to move into the sub ohm area, you can get the .5 ohm coils for this unit. (the premade coils can be rebuilt also if you desire) You get a .5, a 1.2 and rebuild deck with each tank.

I have 2 iStick 50W and love them. If you're looking for a mod where you can replace the batteries you might consider the IPV 2 (70 W).

Even with all the extra wattage the mods have, I don't vape over 20W the way I am set up, but they are there if I decide to go deeper.

I agree with the above I have the Istick 50 and 30 w both the nautilus and mini with the bvc organic coils love them.

Second runners up at the gs air m and ms. I have the regular gs air and do not recommend it because the air flow adjuster is a little screw instead of a slide.

I don't have the mod to compare it to though.

I'd recommend the kanger aerotank (there's different sizes, mini, mega, etc). I have both the nautilus and the aerotank and I prefer the aerotank due to better airflow control.

If you don't plan on going sub-ohm, you can save money and get an IStick 20w and MVP 20w. I have both and both have plenty of power to run the tanks above.

Just my 2 cents. If you're anything like me, you'll end up buying new mods, batteries, tanks, etc on a regular basis. If I didn't vape, I'd probably be a rich man. lol

I might be in the minority for saying this, but the next big step-up would be a mod that has replaceable batteries.
Thnx. I've also been looking at mods that use replaceable batteries and it's very interesting. Can you recommend a few that won't break the bank. I've seen a few that uses double 18650's and of course ones that use the single 18650's. What is the advantage of the double battery mods over the single battery mods?
The reason that replaceable battery mods seemed interesting is that if I buy one of these, then I won't need buy two mod's. I'll just buy one good one and a couple sets of batteries and while I'm vaping on one set, then the other set could be charging. And I think that in the long run, this would end up being cheaper operational wise. I mean, if I have a mod that has a permanently installed battery, I think that it will eventually die and I'd end up having to purchase a completely new mod. Although I've read from plenty of sources that it would take about 2-21/2 years of moderate vaping before the SMOK Xpro M80 would finally die. I don't know what the estimated life expectancy for the iStick 50W is, but I would think it's somewhere comparable to the M80 since both are 4400maH. Or am I seeing this all wrong?

You are absolutely right about the internal battery mod it will start loosing its life within a year. There is many mods out there that wont break the bank. I like the Sigelei mod boxs i own 2 and they are pretty solid devices both run perfect. The 50w vr2 is single 18650 and pretty nice fit if you have average size hands thats the one i use daily. The 100 and 150 get a bit bigger as will any higher power box that use dual batteries. Just something to think about as you decide.

Rebel,

I have an iStick 30 which I am making do for now tootling with just Evod tanks with rebuilt mobetta coils, it actually works pretty well.

My next expenditure will be for 2 GS Air MS clearos to go with the iStick.

The GS Airs were Designed to go with the iStick. Their stock coils are decent and can be rebuilt easily. The shorter MS paired with the iStick makes for a very compact set-up.

The GS MS's are $10 and according to their thread, there's Many Nautilusi that got shelved in favor of GS Airs.

Bruce in Ocala, Fl-who will put his money where his mouth is

I have used both regulated mods using internal and external batteries. Performance-wise they are comparable. Longivity-wise, I think a mod using external batteries is the better choice for the committed "long term" vaper from a practical standpoint.

Once the internal battery dies, it is not replaceable so the entire mod needs to be replaced. With external batteries, just replace the battery (only $6 - $10) and keep using the mod.

Yes just because a mod will do 80 watts doesn't mean you have to use that much. There are plenty of tanks out there that can handle 80 watts but they're all sub ohm tanks. And in no way will the vapor be discreet. I mostly commented to advise you not to buy a 50 watt Istick. Many people including myself have had very dangerous issues with this mod. Some people will say theirs work fine but mine did too for 36 days. Plus its easy to find a better mod and if you value your life and house then why risk it? Like many when I bought mine at the time was a good choice but knowing what we know now its just not a good choice. You can read all about it

Sigelei has some nice offerings. The IPV MinI 2 is another nice one. You're right, as what I'm suggesting is something thats better for long term use. And, if you get more mods, you'll already have the batteries.

So, with dual batteries, they can be wired in two ways. In series, which will double your voltage. Or in parallel, which will double your battery life and give a boost to your batteries' amperage. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Batteries I recommend are:
Samsung 25R flat tops
Sony VTC4
LG HE4
AW IMR 2200
Never buy batts from eBay or Amazon unless you completely trust the vendor.
Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!
Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor

Edit: If you decide on a mod with dual replaceable batts, you will need to marry them. Use them only with each other and charge them with each other.
