I have a Wraith and think everything tastes like crap on it. It makes my best rda taste crappy. I don't understand it.

I have a Pulse BF and only used it for a minute.

Capo has been on pre-order from fasttech and may never get here.

I don't think squonkers are my thing. Will probably trade them out or kyeep the Pulse for novelty. *guess that makes the pulse my fav just cause its cute.
What rda and what built do you have on the mods?
I have a Wraith paired with a Vicious Ant Cyclone v1 and a Pico squeeze paired with a Hellfire Viper v2. They are my MTL setups.
I have a couple of DB2 and three Therions BF with Hadaly or Nuppin toppers for DL. In truth, the SXK made Hadaly was subpar so I bought the authentic, a much better vape. These are the ones residing in my car and pocket, the stab wood mods are home use only.

What about if the mod has the settings for soft medium or hard. Using it on hard wouldn't hit as hard as a mech then either?
Probably not, at least on a fresh battery. Mechs will vape great on a fresh battery but the quality of your vape will diminish as the battery charge goes down.

I do MTL and I find a sweet spot of resistance in my coil(s) that will work for me from 4.2 Volts down to 3.2 Volts. I like to use 0.90 Ohms. Not overpowering fresh off the charger and the vape dies off right where it should.

Any of these companies make conversion sleeves for 26650's that let use 18650's, 20700's, or 21700's?
As far as I know, 26650 to 18650 is just a piece of plastic tube (more or less) to make up for diameter difference. With the 2x700 batteries you have to account for the height difference too. I think the Capo Bf comes with a conversion sleeve for 18650 batteries.

Back on topic: The only squonker I have is the KT DP 160. Works just fine in Wattage mode but the TC appears to be crap, at least using nickel. It pumps all 160 Watts in to keep temp. I haven't tried a thick SS coil yet though to moderate the effect of the pulse.
I have one of them too, TC is shabby at best, it is passable with a 0.3 ohm SS coil.

I was thinking of using 26 gauge SS 316L and building for about 0.50 Ohm with a 3 mm ID at about 7 wraps. I want enough coil for the thing to take a little time to heat up. I'm hoping that doing that will get rid of some of the annoying on/off modulation from the wonky 'all or nothing' 160 Watt TC input. Or they could just allow you to set Wattage in TC via firmware upgrade but I'm not holding my breath.

I have a 18650-26650 Delrin sleeve. My mech mod has and internal adjustable 510 pin that would allow space for a 20700 or a 21700. I could use sleeves for all three, but I do have the 18650 one. I have a couple of iJoy 26650's coming in on Thursday.

-I'm just worried that 26650 tech has topped off. I'm not seeing any new improvements at all. The ones that are available are fine. Better than my 18650's. But 2x700 is looking like the battery that's getting the innovation for now. I don't know if they can take what they've done to those and apply it to the larger 26650 platform.

You could definitely try that but 0.3 +/- worked for me. Worst case, try the coil you have in mind and if need be, remove a wrap and lower the resistance a bit.

I have a Pulse 22, 4 wrap Clapton wire, 0.5 ohm. On my reg Pico, that's thick and flavorful, but on the Wraith it's weak and the flavor changes like the air flow is different. I put several RDAs on and it's just different.

Why don't you like the Wraith? I was actually looking into that mod for my first squonk-mod. I saw it has great reviews.

Don't let me discourage you. Maybe i just haven't found my rhythm with it yet. Had nothing to do with mech versus regulated. I haven't had a mech since 2012 other than the minute with the pulse BF. You can get the Wraith for 29.99 right now at ecig-city.com. excellent price! It's a hefty little dude. I'm going to try more builds and different juice. It just doesn't feel like the same vape as from my Pico like it's under powered and the air is different.

The ramp up time is dependent on the wire type and thickness as well as the resistance. For example a 0.9 ohm Kanthal made from 28 or 30 AWG would be quick. A 0.9 ohm made out of 22 or 24 SS would be slow.

Most modern regulated devices will out perform a mech and be more consistent through out the batteries charge.

BUT I still prefer the simplicity and durability of a mech especially with a squonker, next to nothing can go wrong. Juice leakage is also a non issue if there is no PCB to fail.

I've used my Reo daily as my primary device for over 2 and a half years, no problems at all. It does not hit quite as hard as my Coppervape because of the slight voltage drop caused by the hot spring. Aftermarket silver contacts would resolve this but I prefer the added safety of the hot spring YMMV.

I’m still rocking the Pico Squeeze and oddly enough I really like the... dun dun dunnnn... Coral RDA that came with it! I have a Pulse 22 and have been eyeing the Wasp Nano but I really enjoy the Coral. Not sure why people don’t seem to like it. I’ve since officially retired my go to RX200S/Griffin 25 Plus and HCigar VT/Avocado 24 setups.

My build:

Spaced single coil SS 316L 24 gauge 3mm @ 0.2 ohms (3/4 wrap) wicked with (Sally’s) Rayon. I have the airflow 1/3 of the way open (on the right side of the air hole) and it is perfect.

I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into squonking, $26 shipped for the kit on eBay. $3.15 for 10 replacement bottles on Fasttech. These plastic box mods making the rounds are tempting, but I don’t have the time to fool with cleaning contacts and worrying about which bottle to buy to replace the one that comes with it. To each his own of course. [emoji6]

I put the silver contacts in my Grand. They do make quite a difference. They do require great attention and checking before use but I like them.
