I'm kind of out of the loop when it comes to vaping. So I wanted to stop by and ask a question about which vaping device is best for me, and get a few recommendations. I am very tired of dealing with coils. Making coils and rebuilding my atomizer isn't for me. So I guess I'm going to be moving on to the world of cartridges. Something like the Kanger Subox Mini comes to mind. But I can't be sure if that is the best one. So here is a list of my requirements, and hopefully someone knows of a device that fits the bill.

1. Has to use cartridges, don't want to build/replace coils anymore.
2. Generally doesn't leak/isn't really known to leak
3. Can take an 18650 battery. I really don't like waiting on integrated batteries to charge.
4. Is known for producing pretty good flavor.
5. Makes decent clouds. It doesn't have to be great at it like some kind of cloud monster, but decent clouds are desired.

I'm open to a box mod with whatever atomizer fits this bill. Or maybe something cheap like the Kanger I mentioned would be fine, I dunno. The main thing is no more rebuilding coils, and good flavor. Thanks!

Pico 75 kit or Pico Mega kit. Both come with a tank that takes drop in coils (cartridges are so 2013) and don't leak unless you want them to.

Eleaf is a relable brand with lots of users here.

Also, I'm a big fan of Kanger tanks. Their mods... meh. The Subtank and Toptank are very versatile delivery devices that come very close to the flavor and vapor of mid power rebuildables. None better, IMO.

Get one or two of those and you can rotate flavors for days with no fiddle farting around.

Howdy,
What are you using now?
What nicotine level are you using?
Do you have an external charger?

Cheers

The Pico 75 watt with the Mello Tank has good flavor and doesn't leak. There is also the Vaporesso Tarot mini 80 watt with the Veco tank that is top airflow topfill and can use the ceramic coils that are supposed to be tasty on flavor. I don't have one but I know someone who does and loves it. Vaporesso Tarot Mini Kit - Vaporesso - Brands

I am currently waiting for vape delivery on an Innokin Oceanus 110 watt kit with the Scion tank, Single 20700 battery, kit comes with Scion Tank that can take drop in coils or use the included RBA. Also comes with 2 20700 batteries. Mod is VV/VW only no temp control. Rave reviews on the tank, I'll know in just a little while when the mailman decides to grace me with his presence. Oceanus Scion Starter Kit by Innokin
The mailman came and I have been using the Oceanus for over an hour now with hardly a dent in the battery bar at 60 watts on the factory triple coil .5 ohms. The tank gives good flavor and so far no leaks. It's a good starter set for someone who just wants a plain and simple VV/VW device. Reminiscent of the Kanger Subox in size and shape.

Someone asked, right now a friend loaned me a kanger Subox mini and a atomizer that comes with it. Its ok, but I'm sure there is better out there. And I was just wondering what that was. I'm looking for the best flavor I can get with decent clouds and no rebuilding. Just drop in coils.

How many cigarettes do you smoke per day and how long have you been smoking?

There are many other factors to consider to give an accurate recommendation.

Do you vape Mouth To Lung, or Direct Lung?
Do you want Temp Control support or just wattage?
If you plan to use wattage, do you know about what range? If not this question can be skipped.
Single battery or dual preference?
Size preference? Eg: tiny as possible, medium but comfortable to hold, or I don't care if it a giant box mod as long as it works good.
Price range?

What type of draw are you looking for? There are a plethora of tank options that may fit the bill in sub-ohm DL (e.x. TFV8 X Baby - Majesty kit maybe?) but if you are looking for MTL, your options become more limited. Moreover, I certainly don't have any suggestions for any

I like an easy draw. So of course I prefer larger air holes. I don't like it when you have to draw for a long time, I prefer somewhat shorter draws. That is something I don't like about this Kanger Subox. You gotta really suck on that thing if you want to avoid a burnt taste. Like do a power draw or something. At least that is the way it seems. I'd like to not have to suck like a... a... well you know. Which also make it louder as well.

How many cigarettes do you smoke per day and how long have you been smoking?

Well I quit smoking in about 2010. Vaping keeps me from ever wanting to go back, and helps me when friends are around that smoke. I've converted most of them to vaping but sometimes they will occasionally still smoke and I vape so that I don't have the temptation to smoke. Plus I just love vaping lol.

I do direct to lung,
I'm not real clear on temp control or what its used for,
Currently I do about 40 watts on this Kanger Subox mini. Though I really wouldn't know what the advantages and disadvantages are to being able to adjust wattage. I haven't followed up on any of this in a few years.
Single battery is fine but I prefer 18650
I'd like to keep this limited to medium sized mods, or smaller if that is the way it turns out. I'll be carrying it pretty often so all that bulk would be a hindrance.
I'd like to keep it under $100 if possible, minus the drop in coils of course. But if it goes a little over $100, that isn't a huge deal.

All this help is much appreciated. Thanks guys

The aspire speeder is getting good reviews from those who've gotten it, if you want something more inexpensive. If you want a DNA mod, that's where things start getting a little pricy. My favorite 2 battery mod so far is the Tesla Steampunk nano 120 it's a great vape, does TC well, but it is very heavy and has a few quirks, might not be for you.

Wismec products seem to get good reviews, same for smoant mods. Very nice features and reasonable price.

Best of luck in your search!

Consider my current setup:

I value quality based on manufacturing design, size, aesthetics, appearance, durability, ease of use, and of course vape quality (flavor & vapor production). I vape between 30 - 40 watts.

I use three (for different flavors) Uwell Crown 1 (original) sub-ohm clearomizer tanks. There's a variety of drop in coils available; I've settled on the 0.5 ohm. Coils last me a month or longer. Easy top fill. Ratcheted air control ring will adapt from mouth to lung or direct lung (I do both). No leaking.

Uwell has followed up with the Crown 2 & 3 tanks and a Valyrian model which I have not used ... why break from what's not broken? Search reviews before purchasing these.

I use the JAC Vapour Series B DNA 75W. It's sort of a hybrid shape between a tube and a box. The corners are rounded out and is extremely comfortable to hold. I think it looks classic sexy. Designed in Scotland by a historically reputable manufacturer; made in China. Reasonable price (<$90). DNA microchip (means reliable, accurate, durable). All the reviews are extremely positive. Only downside I have is the rubberized paint finish -- it will scratch if you're not careful; there allegedly are protective vinyl skins available from 3rd party stores.

Mods:
I agree with Baditude that it is hard to beat a DNA device, but I disagree as to which one. Currently for a single battery DNA 75 (non-color) mod I would go with Original Hcigar VT75 NANO Box Mod -$64.53 Online Shopping| GearBest.com, which is currently on sale at GearBest for $65. MVS has them listed for $50 but currently out of stock. It uses the same board as the JacVapor mod Baditude mentioned but is 24mm diameter wide which will give you a bigger selection of tanks you can use.

For $75 you can step up to a Color version of the same DNA board: Original Hcigar VT75C Box Mod with 1 - 75W -$76.99 Online Shopping| GearBest.com. This also uses either a single 18650 battery OR single 26650, and has a color screen that can be customized.

For $76.50 there is the Hcigar VT75D TC BOX Mod -$76.48 Online Shopping| GearBest.com, which is a dual 18650 mod also with the DNA 75 Color board. This is what I personally use. Dual batteries mean much longer battery life, but for dual batteries this thing is still quite small and very comfortable to hold. It is a bit heavier due to dual batteries though. This one is well worth it for battery life especially if you plan on going over 40-50 watts.

All of the above will allow you to use up to 24.5mm diameter tanks instead of limiting you to just 22mm tanks.

Tanks:
I don't use tanks with drop in coil heads so it's hard for me to chime in here, but I will say that many of them use heads designed for much higher wattages. All of the devices Baditude and I mentioned only go up to 75W, so make sure what ever you get is designed for 75 or less. Also keep in mind the higher the wattage the shorter the battery life will be making multi-battery devices preferred. I do know the SMOK Baby Beast and Big Baby Beast has some lower wattage coils available, and I have heard good things about it.

Rebuildable isn't that hard what's the biggest reason why you hate it?

Well really I'm just tired of it. The coils just gunk up too fast for me. Doesn't matter the liquid, even though some will do it faster than others. I just don't like building and messing around with coils anymore. I did it for years, and now I'm over it. Too big of a hassle for me these days. I just want to slap in a battery and a coil and get to vaping.

But man... lots of recommendations in this thread. Kind of overwhelming. Wish I could try all these and pick which one, but of course that is impossible. Just have to hope for the best I guess. The smok beast and baby beast look like they have a very short draw. Anyone have experience with those?
