Hi guys,

I bought my first e-cig in October last year from here
Pocket Size Smart Smoker Electronic Cigarette - Smart Smoker UK | Smart Smoker UK
I think its called a super mini, or something like that

its helped me go from smoking 15-20 cigs a day to about 2

i am happy to use e-liquids, i'm supposed to only use pre-filled carts on the smart smoker, but i've been using e-liquids from (ok smokey - Marlboro - Marlboro Medium 20ml 15mg - Ok Smokey - Electronic Cigarettes & Accessories)

however, i am unable to kick the 2 cigs i am having a day as i really need......don't really know how to describe it, the 'thickness' of the smoke - does that make sense? :?:

its not so much throat hit, i am getting decent throat hit, but i really still need the consistency of smoke, the vapour is just too 'thin' or light. Been thinking I might need to upgrade to a new e-cig, but am bamboozled by the choice out there!!

i'm not bothered about it looking like a cig, i bought the above cos it looked like a cig, but its actually a pain as i keep having to explain that it ain't a cig to everyone. probably would make life easier if it actually didn't look like a cig! decent battery life would be good too, but am able to charge every 8-12 hours or so, so don't need anything that'll last me 2 days!!

any suggestions guys? like i said biggest thing for me is to try and get the vape to become as close to smoke as possible, its this that is currently stopping me from giving up my 2 cigs a day, i have heard of low resistance atomisers which may do the trick, but been told i can't buy those for my super mini as the battery is crap.

thanks for any suggestions in advance :)

5-ish volts hitting a smoktek dual coil mega carto is the closest thing I have found.

With that setup you can take short fast puffs, of incredible vapor thickness, my go-to vape when stressing for whatever reason.

As far as devices go, I love the Darwin I just bought, my other devices all sit at home now. It is priced pretty high, but well worth it!

I would certainly get something variable voltage like a ProVari, or variable wattage like the Darwin.

Those are the two top priced variable mods, but there are lots of cheaper variable options out there too.

Ego is not 3.7v. Ego is around 3.4v. The Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.co.uk might be 3.7v (the kits at LF in the US are). but with big batteries you can use hotter LR (low resistance) cartomizers and atomizers on either and get hotter bigger hits. The Joye brand Ego-T - some do and some don't like the tanks but the batteries have a nice 5-click disable for pocketing them.

Re Gogo -I don't recommend that as a first decent model because it is only compatible with its own stuff. 510-threaded devices like Ego and Riva 510 have the whole array of Joye and other brand 510-threaded atomizers, cartomizers, reservoir cartos, tank attys and tanks etc. Most people use cartomizers so it's important to have choices to find what you like.

The atomizer or cartomizer and juice is as important as your e-cig choice. A low resistance (LR) 306 or LR 510 atomizer with high VG juice like KickBassVapor gives me the heaviest and biggest plumes of vapor. Juices high in VG produce more vapor. AVEjuice runs a close 2nd with Boba's Bounty. BackWoodsBrew has a juice called Malty and Malty Toffee. I don't care for the taste but vapor is a 10. Many people enjoy those flavors. High VG juices gunks up cartomizers quickly. If you want the purest form of vaping, try dripping on an atomizer and use a drip tip. The low-resistance atomizers simulate high-voltage vaping for a warm, cigarette-smoke like vapor. Pair that with high VG juice and you can fog a room.

A Fat Batt model is a nice, solid choice for a PV. They're inexpensive and vape like an expensive mod. My fav is the KGO. Riva comes in 2nd. Both are great. KGOs have more power and are true 3.7 to 4.2 volt PVs with 1100 mAh batteries (100 mAh = about 1 hour of moderate vaping). The Rivas are around 3.2v with 900 or more mAh. It doesn't hit quite as hard but you may not even notice. I stepped down from HV 5 and 6v vaping so the extra voltage is important to me. Both the KGO and Rivas can take the punishment of low resistance atomizers and cartomizers. I've used KGOs for months with no battery decline.

You'll get a lot of good advice here on ECF of different PVs. Whatever you decide is best is the right choice for you. Good luck on your shopping adventure :)

...look for a juice with a higher VG content...VG gives more vapor but does mute the flavors somewhat...if you can find a vendor that will up the VG content AND add a flavor shot, you just might your fav...keep in mind VG is thicker(hence more vapor) so, it does not wick as fast when filling/using cartos...............

If you've been at this almost a year and still can't get past the two smokes, you may be needing something that an e-cig doesn't provide. Tobacco smoke is very complex and contains compounds much more addictive than nicotine. Two of them are MAO inhibitors. They're the ones that give that "feel good", You could try a more robust e-cig to see if it works or investigate some smokeless tobacco products like snus or Stonewalls tobacco pieces. The do provide the whole tobacco alkaloid. Good luck in your search. Two cigs are still way better than a pack a day.

I tend to find more vg make less of a throat hit too...at least in my experience. That is why I try to stay at not more than 70p/30v...I prefer 80/20 though

Good advice, jameth. I think the OP was asking for the model that better simulates the feel of smoking instead of more vapor in the air, at least that is the way I read it.

For the "inhaled feel" of smoking, better batteries make a big difference. 5 volt and variable volt models do that the best, especially those that use "regulated boost circuit" technology such as the Darwin, because there is no drop off in performance as the battery drains. And they just provide warmer vapor than smaller battery models like the 3.2- 3.7 volt models.
