hey,

Im about to get my first vaper, no more using friends
wink.gif
, I wanted to get the nautilus mini but realized the replacement coils are 2-3 bucks a pop. not sure how long they last, some people say 1 week, some 3. not sure how much ill vape either, but probably the average.

now i am a handy guy and aint no dummy, so if a rba will help cut back the cost of coil replacement than i think i want in.

So can you guys help me pick out a rba thats cheaper or around the same as a nautilus mini bvc that will give the same or better quality vape? Some suggested maybe a ud, or ehpro, but which ones??? are theyre any other better fits?

thanks for your help guys. i just want to figure out how i can have a great vape with the lowest monthy cost.

I would go with a EHPro Kayfun Lite V2. You can get one on Ebay for $30.77 shipped. A bit more expensive than your Nautilus mini but it holds 4.5ml and creating coils and wicks cost virtually nothing.

I have 4 EHPro Kayfuns and they are great. Tried some of the cheap ones but they never worked out for me. You will also need wire and wick. I use cotton. Get organic cotton balls at Walgreens for under $5 for 80. That will last you a long time maybe years. Wire you can get from Ebay or Amazon. You should start with something moderate until you determine what you like. I use AW30 wire. 6 wraps on a 2mm drill bit will get you about 1.5ohms. Watch a few videos on how to do the set up. Once you get one built yourself, you can play around and determine the way you like it. That is the nice thing about RBAs. There are so many different ways to set them up.

thanks guys,

ya i think im gonna just go for a kfl+

Watch some video's and realize it's a learning process but it goes very quick. I recently learned to build and other than being a bit time consuming at first it's very doable. First coil, nope, but second coil in the same build session was vaping very well. Do your research and rebuildables are the way to go.

NEVER fire a coil without checking the resistance first. Safty is #1, get an ohm meter. Also do a sanity check against another ohm meter or multimeter to make sure it's ballpark accurate. Don't build low ohm's early, I stuck above 1 ohm for a bit and recommend it.

Recomend rayon or the japanese cotton over the organic cotton, but the organic has certainly done the job for many a build. Good luck, you'll get there pretty quick.

edit: Know how many amps your battery will support and your build is pulling...then pad it. No reason to tempt that face plant IMO.

I asked a similar question a while back (here). Advice I was given then was try an RDA first. Reason why was to be able to learn to build coils/experiment without emptying tanks. Also good to have around if you might experiment with your own juice mixes. Picked up a couple cheap clone RDAs and got the hang of building coils pretty quickly, then moved on to an RBA (EHPRO Kayfun Lite Plus V2). Thought it was great advice.

I'm also a big fan of this: http://www.amazon.com/Artistic-Wire-Coiling-Deluxe-Jewelry/dp/B0068RQ85K to make tight micro coils for use with organic cotton.
