Well as some of you know, i am brand new to vaping. Ive been doing a lot of forum reading and youtube video watching and I think im ready for an RBA, but i don't know much about the different brands and styles.

I am currently using a 1000mah ego twist with a Kanger T3s. I love to tinker and i have already rebuilt my atomizer 3 times trying different resistances, wicking material and "flavor wick" material. Each time it has worked fine, but I would like something i can do more with thats designed to be rebuilt.

My priorities in an RBA are:

1-Flavor
2-Doesn't leak unless i do something wrong
3-Size, i don't want something overly large, preferably with a 2-3ml tank if possible

I would also like to hear what you guys have to say about different wicking options, i am not concerned if one is more difficult to make than the other, im strictly after the best flavor and vapor production possible. If anyone can recommend a website thats a one shop stop for the RBA, wick and wire id appreciate it! Also, what is the best option for quickly changing juice flavors without having to soak components and thoroughly clean them? Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend using most of the RBAs on an eGo Twist. I suggest you look into a mod that uses replaceable, rechargeable batteries that will have the additional amperage that the RBAs require.

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it? You will absolutely need one to test the resistance of the coils that you will make, and to check them periodically to ensure that the ohms don't change. Do you know which batteries are recommended for an RBA? Do you have a good knowledge of resistance and voltage?

Here's some important resources that should help you on your way: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/4454-7-advice-tips-vapors-looking-try-their-first-rba.html

Their is a lot of good RBA's to choose from. I am a big fan of Genesis style atomizers. But I don't know of one that would look clean on a Ego Twist. They look and work best on mod's like Vamo, ProVari and other large form mods. My favorite is the RSST it looks great on my silver PtoVari with a beauty ring. The vapor is super, great flavor and easy to rebuild. I also have a AGA-T and RichMan. They are all in the $40.00 range. They work best with either mesh, cable or ceramic wicks, but you can use silica wicks. As far as cleaning to change flavors, all I do is rinse they with warm tap water. Then I suck out all the water with a syringe and do a dry burn. You can wash the wick with hot tap water and a brush, it's very easy and quick no disassembly required. RichMan.jpgRSST photo.jpg

I do own a multimeter and am pretty proficient with it. I definitely plan on thoroughly checking the resistance on everything I make. I dont plan on messing with anything sub-ohm, ill most likely stay around 1.5. Not sure which batteries are recommended but i do know some PVs need flat tops. I was really hoping to stick with my twists for awhile seeing how i just got them. Will i be ok as long as i stay under 2 amps since its a 2.5 amp switch? Anyone have experience with the AGA-S?

I would stick with the protanks and vivi's,the description on most RBA's have a warning at the bottom recommending that you don't use it on a EGO style batt. Your not going to be able to pull the amps from a twist to really make your RBA shine. I have even seen warnings on the 1.8 ohm protank heads that say not for use on EGOs.

A LR510 Low Resistance Atomizer 2.0 ohm (Cisco Spec) - Avid Vaper would be another option too. I know you want a RBA, but if in order to do so, common consensus suggests you need a different battery.

So for now, if you are wanting to try the dripping route, you won't go far wrong with a 510 non-rebuildable atty. In fact I think every vaper should have one included in their starter kit. It also fits 2 out of 3 things you are looking for.

If you are determined to put an RBA on a twist, then I don't think you will get many people suggesting one because the simple fact is that few (if any) people put RBA's on twists.

I am sure someone will be along in about 20 seconds to show me an RSST on a twist though :D

most genesis tanks like said will stick out like a sore thumb on an ego. but they make several rebuildable dripprs that will work and fit ok. stay in the 1.8 ohm to 2.4 ohm range and you will be fine.
the yk1 and m4 over at fasttech are 14mm, and a mini octopus from smok is i think 16mm. while not a leakproof tank style it is an easy way to get started with experiencing what it takes to rebuild and get some practice while saving for a mod. drill the hole just a tiny bit and the yk1 puts out sick amounts of vapor.

little warning once you start using rebuildables its hard to stop, as they put out some nice flavor and vapor.

I've been using a Pheonix V3/Trivecca
Trivecca Rebuildable Atomizer

It's easy to build and would look good on an Ego. I don't think there's any reason not to use it on an ego as long as you make your coils at least 1.8ohm and use a multimeter to detect any shorts - I've heard about egos dying if they get shorted.

I've used this atty on my ego a few times but I really much prefer it on a mechanical mod with a coil right around 1ohm.

Another poster mentioned Cisco Spec Atties . .I love the LR 1.8's on my egos. The website says to use on ego at your own risk . .but I've never had an issue and think they work great together.
