Hi all, sorry I don't post here much, but having searched here and Google with the above question, there are surprisingly few relevant results.

At the moment I mostly use a Sense Blazer Mini, which I much prefer to the various Herakles and other tanks I used previously, due to the more open draw. There are a few caveats. I'm not looking for a high wattage "super-tank", because I don't want to be getting through huge amounts of juice and replacing batteries every 5 minutes. I usually vape the Blazer Mini at around 60w with the 0.2ohm coils. Flavour is important to me as well, as is tank capacity, but I don't want a tank that is too tall.

I'm thinking a TFV8 Baby Beast will probably be similar to the Blazer Mini, but most reviews give me the impression that the Sense product may have slightly better flavour and the airflow is likely to be fairly similar between the two.

I guess my ideal tank would be about 25mm diameter, only because I usually use Wismec RX mods and any larger would probably have an overhang. Wide open airflow obviously, but still with decent flavour and little or no coil break in time. Ideally coils that I can use in TC mode, if the mood takes me and ideally at least 3.5ml capacity. Also, I'd prefer it to be available in black or gunmetal with matching drip tip. I accept that the Blazer Mini may be the closest to those specifications, just wondered if anyone has any other suggestions. Oh, also I like the easy top fill of the Blazer Mini, so I would prefer to not have to unscrew the cap, although I actually prefer the look of the Melo and others that just slide across, rather than having the hinge.

Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

I use the big baby beast with it's rba base and imo flavor is on point, plenty of air, i use it at about 42 watts on a dual 18650 mod(wismec predator 228) favorite combo i found for now. It is kinda tricky to wick the baby rba but imo it's worth it if you have the patience for it. Otherwise i'd look elsewhere since i hate smok's premade coils tbh.

The aspire triton tank holds 3.5ml and has airflow slots on top and bottom which gives you the ability to really get an open draw. The triton 2.0 only has adjustment on the bottom and I've never used it so I can't comment. The original has the ability to use lots of coils also so I'd think you could find a tc coil. Nice tank that checks all your boxes, I hope this was helpful, good luck.

@Neofolis - do you build coils and wick yourself? If so, the OBS Engine Nano is the best tank I have ever used. It comes in stainless steel (not gunmetal) and black (plus several other colors.) It holds 5.3 mls of juice, but isn't tall or unwieldy. Top airflow, which I love.

I hope you find the perfect tank.

I used to build, I've been vaping since early genesis days. There was a time when I only used mech mods and rda's, but whilst sub-ohm tanks with drop in coils still aren't as good flavour wise, they are good enough for the time and hassle they save. I was never into building, I just did it because the alternatives were useless and I was a really lazy builder. I once made an rda coil last 11 months and that was the only thing I was vaping at the time.

Back to tanks. I think the Big Baby Beast is probably the closest to what I'm looking for, but many people have commented on the premade coils not being the best, although it uses the same as the Baby Beast and I have seen people say that one of the original Baby Beast coils wasn't too bad, the Q2 maybe? I seem to recall the Big Baby Beast comes with a T6 and a Q4?

I have a Triton tank. I actually bought the original Triton after the Triton 2 came out, because I preferred the design of the original, but, although there are numerous coils compatible, none that I am aware of have sufficient airflow and I'm not interested in top airflow that doesn't hit the coils, I may as well just carb for the same effect, which kills flavour in my opinion. Just to clarify, I have no objection to top airflow that hits the coils, but I seem to recall the Triton was just an air inlet below the drip tip.

Maybe I should consider one of the supertanks. Most have an assortment of coils available for them and I seem to recall some of them having alternatives that were just dual parallel coil with massive bore, which I would think could run on a reasonable wattage and have the most open draw. I guess I'll go watch all of the old reviews again.

Anyway, thanks for your input everyone, it's given me some things to think about.

I think the premade coils are fine for BBB. It is a very good tank, IMO. The tank comes with the X-4 (30-70 watts) installed, and includes the T-6 and an RBA. The Q-2 coil is good and comes in three resistances so covers most types of vapers. There is no drop in coil for TC (to my knowledge) but of course, TC enthusiasts can coil the RBA deck with SS. The only downside to the BBB is leaking which is usually, in my experience at least, due to the white silicone cap that sits over the fill area. Some liquids warp that cap, causing it to buckle and not properly seal, but the tank comes with an extra. It will invariably buckle some with use. Rinsing and drying the cap solves the warping and buckly problems. Fitting the cap into place takes a bit of patience and you will know you have it right when the top closes easily.

The top airflow vents allow the air to enter the Engine Nano and funnel down to cool the coil. This seems to work well as an overheated coil will boil the juice around and under the coil. That should not be an issue with the BBB.

Good luck in your search. With all of the tanks on the market today, there have to be one or two that will fulfill your needs.

The innokin Scion has a wayyyy better airflow than the Baby Beast. I had to switch back to the BB when I stripped out the mouth piece on my Scion, it was totally my fault not an issue with the Scion. Don't get me wrong... I was wayyy in love with my BB but going back to it after the scion, the flavor was muted and the airflow was restricted more than I'd remembered... and it was a fresh coil. Thank God two days later my new Scion came and it had a spare mouth piece so Now I have two Scions! WIN!!

Yeah, it's wierd how you get used to airflow. I remember when I got my Herakles V2, vaping my Triton just felt like hard work, it was a real effort to do a direct lung hit. Now I'm used to the Blazer Mini, the Herakles V2 feels like the Triton used to feel.

The BBB is sounding like a lot of hassle, I've never had a single issue with Blazer Mini, then again there are probably people who have never had an issue with the BBB. I check reviews on the Scion, the Engine Nano and the various "super tanks" that all seemed to come out around the same time. I remember Matt "Suck My Mod" did a comparison video with all or most of them, so that may be a good place to start.

    Thanks again.

I use the original crown and wide open provides a really airy draw. I use mine one click short of closed for a restricted draw and two clicks if I want airy and that's not even half way open. So that might be worth a try, also the coils last months and you can choose between .25/.5/and 1.2 if memory serves. I just use the .5 which is great for flavor with a nice cloud.

Well having watched Matt's super-tank shootout again, it seems the Wismec Reux has the biggest airflow, but I don't like that you have to remove the top cap to fill. My best options seem to be the Blazer 200, TFV8 or Melo 300, mainly because they are all compatible, so airflow will be dependent on whichever coils I choose for any of them. Of those three, the Melo 300 is probably the one I will go for, because I like the fill method more and because it's available in a shorter form. Now I just need to decide which coils to go for. Fortunately, the ones with the most airflow are usually the ones with the single coils, albeit with multiple strands, which are also the ones that usually run at the lowest wattage, so that works out quite well. I'm drawn more to Blazer 200 coils, because they usually have a good combination of short break in time, good longevity and good flavour, but I'll watch individual reviews for each of those devices to get a better idea about the coils.

Thanks again everyone, I still welcome anymore thoughts you may have.

Well that didn't go as planned. None of the three compatible tanks Blazer 200, TFV8 or Melo 300 do the style of coil I was hoping for. I checked the Scion tank, but that has coils rated 70-100W, which is not too bad, but I'd prefer to vape around 60W in terms of juice usage and battery life. Also the Scion has to have the top totally removed to fill. I'm back to thinking the Q4 coils for BBB would be best, but don#t like the sound of the possible hassles with the tank. The Reux coils with and singlw coil design are rated 100-150W, plus it has removable top cap. I suppose there is always the possibility that the Blazer Mini that I already have is the closest to mathing my criteria and I don't actually need to buy anything, just stick with what I've got. The Blazer 200 ceramic coils are rated from 60-150W, but I suspect I wouldn't get a very satisfying vape at 60W.

The only reason I was looking for something new is because I have damaged the 510 connection on my current Blazer Mini and, whilst it still works, it sits at a slight angle on the mod and sometimes needs to be loosened and tightened again to keep firing.

Also, I noticed I should probably update my signature at some point. Even though I still have all of the devices listed in my sig., I doubt any of them have been used for 2-3 years and considerably longer for some.
