Bluefosho, welcome!
huggy.gif
Congratulations on making one of the best choices of your life: to quit smoking & start vaping. And welcome to the Canada sub-forum on ECF!

There's a host of information I could share with you right now. Ordinarily I'd recommend Happy Vaper and Evapers right off the mark, with associated info. But given that your primary concern at the moment is a lack of funds...let's address that specifically.

Bear in mind that starter kits are not a necessity. You're usually just paying a bit extra for fancier packaging & a few unnecessary doo-dads like a velvet carrying bag, or 5 free cartridges, lol. Whomever you go to, odds are they will have separate batteries & separate atomizers (or separate cartomizers) etc etc.

I completely agree with what DemonCleaner said above about Electro Vapors - they're an excellent, friendly supplier located in Alberta, with some unique hardware & juices that other Canadian suppliers don't carry. You'll have a great customer experience with them, guaranteed.

Also, as many people here will tell you...Jack at Happy Vaper is awesomeness wrapped up in a sweet man. Super friendly service, fast shipping & quality products. Located in the GTA. He will do whatever it takes to make you a happy vaper & keep you that way! You can always feel confident going with Jack.

I'm going to make most of the following recommendations using Happy Vaper for reference, mainly because to date I've bought all of my vaping hardware from them. No slight is intended towards Electro Vapors - I wholeheartedly recommend that you check them out, too. In fact I'm considering their new 800 mAh Leo model at the moment (made by Boge, a wonderful company that also produces the 510 cartomizers that Jack carries). Anyway, let's continue.

---

You can get one Joye 510 battery from Happy Vaper for only $20. Several different colours to choose from, manual or automatic. The 510 USB charger for it is only $6.49. A five-pack of 510 cartomizers is only $10.

Happy Vaper - Joye 510 Battery (Black, Silver, White, Copper)
Happy Vaper - Joye 510 USB Charger
Happy Vaper - Blank (empty) 510 Cartomizers

The 510 only has about 2 hours of battery life (and 1 hour to recharge) so I would ordinarily advise getting two - that way you always have 1 to use while the other is recharging. I also recommend the automatic 510's wholeheartedly, for use with the 510 cartomizers. The automatics are activated by inhalation, no button to fiddle around with - so they feel a lot more like smoking. For your first e-cig at least, I feel this is the way to go.

510 cartomizers (which are threaded to fit the 510, eGo & Mega eGo) are also a more affordable & simpler way to go than separate atomizers. They're basically an atomizer + cartridge all rolled into one. Opinion varies widely on atomizers vs cartomizers as you'll see. I can only tell you that I've been using them exclusively since day 1 as a vaper, and love 'em. I'll send you a PM after posting this with info on cartos.

One 510 batt + USB charger + a five-pak of 510 cartomizers: $36.49 (before tax or shipping).

---

An even more affordable option would be for you to get the Joye 510 Passthrough from Jack. It's only $23. You simply plug it into your computer, and it'll run indefinitely.

Happy Vaper - Joye 510 USB Passthrough (Black, Copper, Silver)

One passthrough + a five-pak of 510 cartomizers: $33 (before tax or shipping).

---

Now if you don't care for the passthrough, or if you want longer battery life, i.e. a batt that should keep you satisfied even with only one on hand...I would advise that you skip the 650 mAh eGo & go directly to its big sister. She's only marginally larger in physical size, but packs a lot more battery life. You can get one Joye Mega eGo for only $30 (also from Happy Vaper). It's a 900 mAh battery (the 510 by comparison is 180 mAh). What that means is the Mega eGo will last you for anywhere from 6 to 12 hours of vaping, depending how heavily you use it. It only requires 2 hours to recharge.

Happy Vaper - Joye Mega eGo Battery

I'd recommend the automatic Mega eGo, for use with 510 cartomizers. That's what I use!
smilefinal.gif
Automatic Mega eGo's are only available in silver or black, but colour is the least of your concerns right now. Because of the greater power & size of the Mega eGo, it is inadvisable to charge it through your USB port. Therefore if you do go with this battery, you'll need the eGo Fast USB Charger ($10) & the USB Wall Plug Adapter ($6):

Happy Vaper - eGo Fast USB Charger
Happy Vaper - USB Wall Plug Adapter

One Mega eGo batt + Fast USB charger + USB Wall Plug Adapter + a five-pak of 510 cartomizers: $46 (before tax or shipping).

---

That just leaves you needing e-juice with nicotine. Ordinarily, I would make a post for a newbie explaining the differences between premixed & DIY, and why I advise DIY (it's simple, offers way more control over every aspect of the juice, lets you try & even create many more flavours, and saves you a lot of money vs. premixed).

But that can wait for now, since you're on a tighter than usual budget & just want to get started. In your case I would recommend Electro Vapors since they have juices in 10mL to 30mL bottles. Only $7.99 to $9.99 for the 10mL size; they have some really great premium-quality flavours in stock, too. They also conveniently offer many of their premixed juices in PG or VG, which means you can create your own PG to VG ratios if you get both kinds. Link below:

Electro-Vapors - E-Liquid for your E-Cigarette

---

Evapers is another wonderful choice - I go to them exclusively for all my flavourless PG w/nic (and now VG w/nic too) for DIY-ing my own juices. But they carry premixed e-juice too, in PG or VG. A 30mL bottle will be $13 to $19, depending on the nic strength you choose:

Evapers - E-Liquid 17 Flavors - 30 ml

I've only ever had their flavourless...but I can tell you they're very friendly & ship super-fast. Consistently great flavourless too!

---

Vapors Kitchen is another option. They're located in Kitchener, ONT & while I've never ordered from them before...I've heard that if you send them an email requesting a special mix (e.g. 25% VG content in the juice rather than an all-PG juice - VG adds a lot more vapour), they'll take care of you. They DIY all their juices on-site. But before you order, consider: a generic tobacco flavour from Vapors Kitchen vs a premium Players or du Maurier flavour from Electro Vapors. One might produce better vapour...another might taste better.

(Personally I don't like any tobacco flavours anymore! :laugh: But that's just me.) Finding your favourite juices is an ongoing process that never really ends.

You'll also have to request from Vapors Kitchen exactly what nic strength they mean by "E-Liquid Low - Med - High" - but that's easily done. They have a YouTube channel too (link below to one of their vids):

Vapors Kitchen - Menu
YouTube - VAPORSKITCHEN.COM E5: Newbies guide, vaping the Joye 510

---

Hope this post has helped! Best of luck & remember...we're here for you. Please don't ever hesitate to share your thoughts, feelings or questions with us.

Your journey into vaping will be full of learning experiences. Things will only get better as time goes by (especially once you're able to have two good batts on hand & start exploring the world of juices, atomizers, cartomizers, etc etc etc). The important thing for now is that you should be able to start vaping, even on a limited budget, with relative ease.

Happy vaping!

dude liberty flights use code ecf and it cost 39.99 for the set of 2 full vaporizers, then get a few empty cart and juices

Joye eGo 510 - Special ECF Offer

This is a special offer, once these 50 units have gone then offer will no longer be available.

Each kit now comes with 2 full devices (2 batteries, 2 atomizers and 2 cones).

Combining the trusted Joye 510 atomizer with a much larger capacity battery, this device improves on the standard 510 kit by being able to operate longer between needing to be recharged, nearly 4 times as long as a standard 510 battery. Depending on usage, this means the device could last anywhere from 5 hours for heavy vaping to up to a few days for a light vaper. Kit comes with :

* 2 x manual eGo 650mAh batteries
* 2 x Joye 510 atomizer
* 2 x Atomizer Cone
* 5 x tobacco cartridges
* 1 x high speed USB charger
* 1 x usb mains charger
* 1 x user manual
* 1 x presenation box

Bluefosho, whatever you do, don't order e-juice with nicotine from the States! If you do, you run a very good risk of Canadian customs seizing it & your having flushed your money down the toilet.

There are a few U.S. suppliers who will ship it in discreetly labelled bottles etc, but you have to know who they are first. Even then, it's still something of a risk, takes a lot longer to arrive, requires you to pay in USD...not the best way to go. When you order your e-juice w/nic from a Canadian supplier, you can relax & know that your juice will arrive without trouble.

y2kbugger meant well I'm sure...but yeah, we Canadians really are better served by going with Canadian suppliers, for ease of mind & speed of delivery. When I order from Jack & choose Expedited shipping, it gets here in like 2 days. Ditto with Evapers. That's crazy fast!

I like cignot or Clouds of Vapor and I think the best kit you can buy is an eGo kit.
For only $59.00 at either place you will have two batteries that will let you vape all day long.
Order the manual batteries they are easier to use and they last forever! I would also order a small bottle of e juice at 18 mg or whatever strength you want to try, for me 24mg was too much and it made me foggy and headachey so you have to decide what is right for you.
Besides you need two batteries so you can use one and have the other charging.

eGo Kits
These are the kits I bought and still use and recommend to everyone!
Good luck and Happy Vaping!

I've placed probably 30-40 orders from the states, and not one has been seized, so I wouldn't say it's a good chance, but it is definitely possible.

Backwoodsbrew.net will label everything properly and has awesome juice.

Other than juice, go to Jack at HappyVaper.com

I've bought about 4 orders from Vapors Kitchen and I can definitely recommend them. The service has been excellent and some minor issues have been dealt with quickly and professionally, often with extra juice tossed in for my trouble. When I first ordered he even gave me a Cherry Vape drip tip from his personal collection since I asked and he didn't sell them at the time.

His juice is also very good. I didn't think so at first, but after trying other brands I now know how good it really is. It's mostly 60/40 VG/PG mixes and it's made fresh so you'll need to allow some time to steep for optimal taste. My personal favourite is Dulce tobacco which has a flavour that's hard to describe, maybe more of a full-bodied texture and taste. Canadian Sweet Tobacco I don't like as much but I find it to taste a bit similar to regular Canadian tobacco. Both might be worth a try. I find their flavourings in general taste less artificial overall compared to others like Dekang brand. Depends what you get of course too.

I have to disagree with this statement, maybe wait until your sure vaping is the thing for you, but their is just better juice to be gotten in the USA. period. Not that our Canadian juice isn't good, you just have 100 times the options if you broaden your search to the US. There is risk, you might lose a shipment but for myself it's worth the risk and chances are you'll get your juice in 2 weeks without any problems. I've done 60+ US juice orders and all but one I didn't get.

Rachel, have you ever lost a shipment? How many US orders have you made?

Blue, stick to Canada for now, if you ever become unsatisfied with your liquid, look elsewhere.

FreeFlow, I've never ordered e-juice w/nic from the States.
smilefinal.gif
In fact I don't order premixed e-juice from anywhere, lol - I DIY all my own (and get my flavourless w/nic here in Canada). But I have ordered flavourings though from there, no problem.

Please remember I did mention there are a few suppliers down there who know how to ship it "Canuck style" so that it arrives here safe & sound. The thing is to make sure that you're dealing with one of them before placing an order. I just think it's important for us to make a newbie aware of that & the potential risk to their $$ in advance...vs the ease of mind they'll always have when ordering from a Canadian supplier. Not to mention the convenience of 2 days wait vs 2 weeks, anytime.

Anyway...FreeFlow, bornagainst & Dusty_D should all be able to give specific advice as to which U.S. e-juice suppliers are Canadian-friendly & ship discreetly.

The reasons I can agree with not ordering from the STATES is:

- a slight chance that e-juice wont make it through customs (I've never lost one to customs... lost shipments yes, but no seizure with small scale purchases)
- the shipping wait..... sometimes a full week, other times up to 3 weeks
- the hassle of warranty issues if its required to be returned for replacement ie: shipping & waiting time

I try my best to stay purchasing within CANADA for shipping wait times ease as well as for warranty. I also attempt when possible to support our local vendors so they stay interested in maintaining their position of supplying us readily. It's true that availability of the latest and greatest, some mods, and certainly the different varieties of e-juices out there come up a bit short, but I feel as demands grow with user expansion here in Canada, that our vendors (and the many new ones popping up), will adapt and attempt to provide what we are looking for.

It's all about researching and understanding the possible risks and hassles involved.... other than that, it a free decision whichever direction you take on.

VapeOn,
Greg

Yea I just thought you were a little to scary with your "whatever you do don't order nic from the US" lol. I agree he should stick to Canada if he can, I just wanted him to know that it's not as bad ordering from the US as he may have taken from your post.

Rachel, you should pm me your address, i'll send you some Backwoods Brew goodness to try. I'd like to see what you think.

Revolver is the best supplier in my eyes they have great products and excellent customer service it also doesn't take long to receive my packages about 3 to 5 days tops.
I own a Vgo 900mah and an Infiniti Ion. I have had nothing but great service from this supplier.

Wrong forum dude. They don't ship to Canada.

The problem with buying everything in Canada is the hefty markups. It's not just ecig juice either. It's books, magazines, software, games, consumer goods, etc. Ever compare amazon.com to amazon.ca? Our dollar is actually a bit higher than the US but we still pay an inordinate premium.

In 2 years of vaping with a very large number of packages from both China and the States, I've never had a single package siezed, so until it changes I tend to go that way for as much of my purchases as is practical.
