My Young June Lavatube has bit the dust, so I'm back on my old eGos. I'm thinking about a VAMO, but I know there's different manufacturers. Is one better than another? Best place to buy?
I wouldn't worry about manufacturers as much as the "version". I own a V2, and the juice well around the ego threads is not technically removable. V3 and up has a top cap area that you can just unscrew. V4 and up also has a nicer-looking OLED screen versus the older-style blocky-number display. You can also get one in aluminum in the V5 and choose a color if that's your thing.
Personally, if I needed another Vamo I'd look for a V5 stainless from a reputable vendor.
And now, I correct myself. The V4 is the same body as the V2 but with the V3 board that has OLED display. The V5 has the removable top cap, and that is exactly what I would go for.
The LT is getting to where it doesn't want to fire everytime, and I have to push the on button many more times than 5 to turn it on. I'm also considering the iTaste SVD and Siegelei Zmax.
I believe that the Vamo is a product of KSD. Products Catalog_Shenzhen Kangside Technology Co., Limited
Of course they may sub-contract the manufacturing to different locations. I do not know if you could purchase one and know the point of origin. That being said, the Vamo is still a pretty cost effective device. When they first came out, the Vamo had no peer in the $30 price point. Over the last year, the market has produced several competitors. The zmax, svd, sid, mvp2, kmax, and I am sure there are more.
