I wish I had known this before I spent 40.00 on silver conduction greast that Super T recommended. This is just for the where the switch connects and the body that is passes through. Are you saying I don't have to use this.

Sounds like you got the correct stuff. I don't know about these other cheaper brands. Grainger has great prices, so when i see other brands going for far less, i question whether they are truly the same. Some of them say they are not electrically conductive, but here is a copy and paste from the one i recommend:

" Silver Conductive Grease, Syringe Dispensing, Size 6.5 g, Size/Net Weight 6.5 g, Color Silver, Temp Range -70 to 485 F, Silicone Base, Electrically and Thermally Conductive Grease, For Maximizing Electrical Conductivity In Electrical Circuits, Protecting Connections and Maximizing Thermal Conductivity In Heat Sink Applications"

Heres the link:

Hey Jeff

I only opened the last link and read the technical details.
This is a copy from that link.

Technical Details

  • 99.9% pure micronized silver
  • Non-electrically conductive
  • Will not separate, run, migrate, or bleed
  • Thermal conductance: >350,000W/m2 degreesC (0.001 inch layer)
  • Easy to apply and remove
The part about "non-electrically conductive" is what concerned me, but I know absolutely nothing about this stuff and still could be missing the point.

Thanks
Bob

Im gonna remove that one just to be sure but it makes no sense as it says 99.9% Pure Micronized Silver then it says NON -electrically conductive ......which confuses the heck out of me as silver is highly conductive thats why it is used soo much.

As I said I only use the Artic Silver 5 as it is the most used by computer builders/gameing High end computers all over the world. I will remove that other link as I made a quich search for less expeincive thermal compound and did not read that one as I only usre Artic Silver brand!

My bad

so is the arctic silver 5 good for super 6?

It says "Non-electrically conductive " for the arctic silver 5

??

You want it To be conductive. That's the reason to use it.

You're trying to enhance the concuctivity between the battery and the contacts on the device to transfer more electron flow....

Some people are using Noalax and it's anti-oxidant compound that can impair flow.
