Which way to go for daily cloud chasing?

Hi Pros,

Intro:
I am quite new here, I am quite new to vaping. Reasons I moved away from smoking are quite universal so lets skip it. I started out few months ago with: X Cube 2 and TFV-4. Right now I additionally have Vision tank and iJust2 that honestly I do not really use atm... On TFV-4 I tried most of the coils and more or less I know what works for me and what doesn't... additionally it seems like I am grasping 'why' it is so...

Needs:
  • 6-9mg/ml nicotine content (depending on how much vape I produce with given coil/tank/settings)
  • clouds clouds clouds (naturally VG>PG as a base, yet it doesnt have to be Max VG to make me happy, 70/30 6mg + 10-20% aroma seems to be doing a trick for me - yea I mix myself mostly but I occasionally do try pre-made juices)
  • It needs to be running all day long stable with no need to think of it... I don't mind filling juice or occasionally change the coil but I want it be reasonably predictable and maintenance free during the day...
  • Possibly I would love to move to smaller mod+tank set for 'our of home' vaping yet I do not want to compromise cloud part too much.
  • No leaks!
Current favorites:
  • TFV-4 with TF-N2 temperature sensing coil. XCube2 settings 225*C normal. 4-6sec vapes. Nice and enjoyable experience, nice durability of the coil. Lacking 'instant hit + cloud' factor.
  • TFV-4 with QuadCoil. Setting 80-120W normal. 1-3 sec vapes. Sickly amazing clouds and flavor. No matter how careful I am and what juice I use coil dies after a day or 2... Tried lowering wattage... tried stronger inhalation... tried making longer breaks between hits... at some point it is just too much of things to take into consideration anyways. Point is that I can't do what I want with this coil in a long run while being way under 'design limitations'. In a short run... Fantastic.
Problem:
I see a room for improvement regarding my gear and I see couple of ways of doing it but considering my little experience I want to ask you guys for some tips and recommendations.

Current options:
  • TFV-4 RBA. Tried couple of times with stock coil yet despite watching tutorials on YT couldn't get it to wick properly and/or leak through the air flow. Any good tested builds for my needs with this one?
  • Different tank? Is there something noob-proof to take out of the box and enjoy high Watt vapes without a need to play around with the device itself all the time?
  • How about dripper? I watched some videos and I guess I could handle juice refilling... I guess one can run it with temp control and enjoy quite a few nice vapes before refilling again... again correct me if I am wrong but it seems like people are able to get quite some juice in those and as long as I am not driving it shouldnt be a problem.
  • What about 'metal wick'? I guess this stuff is burn resistant by nature... right? :)
Recently I had a chance to try out bunch of tanks that are having great reviews and sure they taste nice but are not even close to be able to cloud properly for my liking (like Kanger mini or iJust2).

So... what do you recommend as a next step?

I hope I presented my situation clear enough so you can point me in the right direction. Please be creative because if I cannot find a solution any soon I will build my own. CAD is up and running with different project right now but as soon as it is over i might get myself hand held smoke machine ;)

For big clouds and high wattage, you already have the "best" tank with pre-built coils. If you want to get into building your own, there are a LOT of options. Shop around and see what you like. My current favorite RDA is the Velocity. It allows for so many options in how you can build it, it's tough to beat. It's a fog machine that can be dialed down for use as a flavor maker. There is a "tank" called the Aromamizer that is basically the same base, but made with a 6 ml tank on top. I hear good things about it. I don't know much about your mod other than that I've heard some SMOK mods have issues in TC mode. But it has plenty of power for just about anything you can currently vape. You don't need to get another one for any reason other than to have a backup in case that one breaks down.

To be honest, if you want more clouds, straight VG is about the only option. When you start going just for clouds, you have to give up something, be it battery life, flavor, or throat hit. If you have good flavor and are happy minus the clouds, I wouldn't personally worry with changing a thing. A dripper will help possibly with clouds but could sacrifice some flavor. Clouds to me personally are just a by product and if I have great flavor plus get my nic fix, I couldn't careless.

I don't understand your point on coil design limitations, if you are burning through coils you may have a bad batch or the liquid you are using is the problem, since you said you have turned down the wattage. I think you need to try a bad setup from someone, just to appreciate what you have. The longer you vape the easier it becomes to determine problems. I'm not trying to offend you but with you being a new vaper and making juice, that might be more of your situation. I don't know you though, so I could be completely off base. If you're in it for just the clouds, you may never be completely satisfied, I have seen it happen quite a few times, good luck in finding what you want, many of us are still looking, lol.

Ok, the post itself was written some time ago and just recently got moved here so I feel like I need to give some update on the situation.

Got myself Joytech VTC mini

This thing with TC N2 coil works like a charm for daily vapes. Despite having tiny (comparing to TFV4) coils with tiny juice ports and waaaay lower operational wattage does the trick for me. High VG, High Nic, High Flavor juice is making me happy. Additionally it is way more comfortable to carry around than XCube2. It does not get me as big clouds but for that... I still have TFV 4, Vision MK and a Dripper ;)

I still plan to get something like RDTA later on but for now I am quite happy.

Regarding juice and TFV4 burning down - that aint it. Same juice in my new toy... week on the coil easily - I change it just to prevent possible problems. Simply week on those coils is totally good for me - perhaps they could be fine even after 2 weeks - might gonna try at some point.

Conclusion is... I still don't have precisely what I wanted but my motivation to find it ASAP very much went down, simply because I am happy with current setup and options that multiple devices give me comparing to one.

Right now I got myself way more into perfecting my juice recipes cuz my local E-Cig vendor doesn't want to share his secrets (they have some self made stuff that is daaaaamn good) which is understandable from the business perspective yet cutting down the operational cost for me is one of the objectives.

Cheers ;)
