I'm planning to buy Grand with Reomizer and Mini with Hornet rebuildable on one go and I was wondering which wire and silica wick I should get from rob to ensure the most vapor and resistance around 1.5ohm - 2.0ohm range. Note I don't have a resistance meter yet so I would have to get a recomendation from you :)

1. I've read that the more wraps on the silica the better as it covers more surface so is 32 gauge is good ( less wraps = lower resistance ?) , or should I get gauge 30 ? How many wraps around 3mm and 2.5mm silica to get 1.5ohm -2.0ohm range?

2. Is there a difference in silica apart from thickness or it being bigger does it produce more vapor ? Which one should I go for for my rebuildables?

3. I'm planning to go almost 100% VG or close to that as I love to make clouds of vapor

Thank you in advance for all your replies :)

I am just starting out on the rba's. I found lots of good information on coils/wicks here. Also which wire to use: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/337822-share-your-wick-coil-setups-your-reo.html

I picked up a roll 100ft of A-1 Kanthal 32g for just over $10 on ebay. I am going with a cotton or bamboo wick. I should be able to do coils from 1.5 to 2.5. I will have to see!

If you have not ordered from Robert yet look at his wire and wicks. He has smaller amounts that you can pick up and try some different ones.

Less wraps = lower resistance YES

For 1.5 to 2.0 ohms:

30 Gauge wire: 4 to 5 wraps
32 Gauge wire: 6 to 8 wraps

If you're using multiple strands of silica for a thicker wick, you can subtract a wrap or two. Either 2.5 or 3.0mm silica would work well.

I wouldn't say bigger diameter wick produces more vapor, but 3.0mm is a good place to start.

Try a single strand of 3.0mm silica and see how well it wicks 100% VG to your coil. If you judge it's not keeping up, you can try two or more strands of silica in a coil and see how that works. I haven't had any success with mega bulky wick setups.

Thank you in advance for all your replies :)

When you buy your Grand from ReosMods, you can get multiple sizes of wire and wick in small quantities. Try a few different setups and when you figure out what works best for you, then order larger quantities of that wire and wick.

Good luck. :)
