My only local one whilst I'm at university is a Totally Wicked vendor.
Wouldn't go there again, prices are extremely high!

Trying to charge £100 for an mvp! Can get them for £35 from most online retailers and other independent local shops.

Also, charged me £6 for a CE4, would've walked out if it hadn't of been an emergency buy!

So I have dealt with both and was wondering what people thought.

Would you rather buy products locally for about a buck more, or online for a buck or two less?

Personally, I will always try to buy local, just to keep the business there and I can also deal with them face-to-face.

Thoughts?

A buck or two more no problem. However it usually turns out to be 50% less or more online.

If im in the area ill grab batteries are something. besides that there prices are high. There clones are $50-$80 for what looks like fast tech stuff. The clone i just bought for $17 they have listed for $50.

If it was closer to $30 I would have most likely bought from them. Juice prices are pricey at $1 per ml

$1/ml that is just wrong.

It depends what I am looking for. Specialty items such as IBTanked or the Sophia, I can only buy online. I try to buy what I can locally, and that includes high end mechs and other mods. I bought a genuine brass Turtleship locally because it was there. I don't normally like to wait or do lists if I can avoid it. Most things I can get for what I would pay online plus shipping, and I don't have to wait for the item.

I didn't mean it to be a loaded one. The local shop I shop at has all their products for about a dollar more than online prices. Sorry if the question may have not been a more universally geared one.

if what you are saying is true then I would support that shop 100%

my experience
I bought my first kanger evod starter for $14 at my local shop, that was a good price
as I progressed I decided to go with Hcigar for my kayfun and nemesis clones
I researched prices and my Local shop wanted $60 for them each
I ended up getting them from a Cali vendor online in the $30-35 range with free shipping and no tax

shipping time definitely has to factor in with this. I relate it to asking for one specific thing fro Christmas, seeing it wrapped, and knowing that is what it is because like any kid, you memorize every detail of the packaging to know exactly what it would look like wrapped. The wait is killer.

I do, I found my AeroTank for $20 there and they have a 3/10ml juice deal for 12.99. I will go back again soon and price check other items to see how it checks out further.

this is what I'm talking about...I bought a protank2 from my shop for $20 also

it seems like most these shops price the beginner stuff cheaper then try and rope you in for their overpriced mods

I will see what their mod prices are. I would call, but they closed a few hours ago. I should be in the area on thursday so I will check in. Another thing I liked about my shop was when I was getting started, the owner, probably my age (25), opened mine and their tester and explained how to work everything/clean/the whole nine yards. They did the same thing with the Aero. I felt more secure with them because they made sure to not let you leave the store without knowing anything about it or having to watch other peoples tutorials. Hands-on for me always works a little better with things I know little of.

If it was truly only a buck or two more at a local shop I would certainly shop there if they had what I wanted and I liked them, but it's NEVER only a buck or two more at the local B$M's so 99% of my purchases are online. I have found a few reasonably priced online shops that offer fast shipping and no BS that I like but if I can't find what I want there for the price I am willing to pay it's off to Ebay I go. The one exception I make is for a new vape only B&M shop that opened near me 3 months ago. It's the first and only vape only shop around. While I can't spend the extra money they want for any of the mods they sell, I still buy juice and small things where the price difference is only a few dollars compared to buying online from them because I like the owners and want that shop to succeed.

I know that B&M's have overhead so they are going to charge more than Joe Shmo on Ebay, but I have overhead too and I can't afford to help them pay their light bill and expect to be able to pay mine. I think we all know we can find an Ego "kit" with an 1100mAh battery, a charger and one or two CE4's on Ebay for $10-$20. Why in the world would I ever want to go to a B$M and fork out$40-60$ for the same Chinese clone of a Chinese Ego? I could pay $25-$35 plus 6% sales tax for say a ProTank II when I can get the same tank on Ebay or one of the online vendors I like for $13 shipped. Does not compute. Can you smell what the rock is cooking?

I like the local B&Ms, there are plenty of them and competetion is keen. I have been in five so far and none were price gouging and all are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
That being said I also shop online at Ebay, Fastech, and several vape shops. I guess I just like to spread the wealth a little. The bad thing about the internet shops is that the odds are you will get hosed sooner or later.

Happening to me right now with VaporKick.com Makes me wary of future online buys.
