Evening all-

While I am waiting for my TW 901 Platinum to hit the door step and two 10ml (6mg) liquids to arrive from Janty..I have been reading and I am beginning to freak myself out on the whole quality control thing of e-liquid. I know that there is no sure fire way to tell what's in the e-liquid but is one company over another a safer source? For example, I read TW lists the contents on the side of the box but does that mean it comes from a different source than let's say Janty?

I guess I am banking in the end that this 'must' be better than analog smoking but when I read things like "..good luck..it's probably liquid melamine.." (although sarcastically spoken) it doesn't give me a ton of confidence that I am heading down the right track.

I suppose knowledge is the key and all I know at this point is that it's all unregulated and it comes from China... is this pretty much what I am working with?

Like I note at the beginning, my 901 is on the way and I am excited to work on this alternative but at the same time I am apprehensive about not knowing (of course I don't know what's in my mini swisher cigs either and that hasn't stopped me...even though I do know it's bad).

Looking for confidence.

When I first jumped into this, I honestly didn't give a whole lot of thought to the purity of the e-liquid. I was just so freakin' happy to be off tobacco that I figured that vaping just had to be less damaging than smoking.

Well, I still feel that vaping is a better alternative, but I'm not quite as blase about what's actually in the e-liquids I'm vaping. Truth is, there really is no quality control. I mean, even if the ingredients are listed on the label, there's really no guarantee that that's really all that's in it. Even with companies that advertise they make their e-liquids here in the U.S., well, I'm not sure exactly what that means--do they mix it here and get the component liquids from China? I just don't know.

I actually wouldn't mind some governmental oversight of the e-liquid industry. I would really, truly like to know what it is I'm vaping and have some assurances that what they say is in there actually is . . . nothing more and nothing less. What I don't want, though, is a ban while the government is figuring out how to regulate.

But for now, I continue to vape, and while I believe that vaping is less harmful to me than smoking tobacco, I can't say it for a fact . . . but I do feel better, and my quality of life is much improved. Just being able to vape a bit on the sofa near my rabid non-smoking husband instead of going outside to smoke is worth quite a bit. :)

What I don't do, though, is tell myself (or others) that vaping is healthy. I just feel that it is less damaging than smoking tobacco, but the jury is out as to what the true long-term effects of vaping are.

Thanks for the info guys. I think the independent testing is the key. Don't get me wrong, we all know there are various substances in the e-liquid, I just want to make sure it's not something that is off the charts bad for you.

When I read about the process to get pure nicotine and the expense at doing so, I can't help but think cutting corners is going to happen at some level.

Just some review would be a good start. I appreciate what TW has done and I will likely order from them directly simply due to that fact.

PS - Where is the postal service!
