Just bumping this back to the top cause this recipe is truly special in my opinion. And I'm not normally a fruit flavor fan - mostly coffee & ry4 type flavors for me. Never would have thought these 3 flavors could come together to produce something sooo good. Keep posting those recipes HIC!!!

Brand new DIYer here. In fact, this is the first recipe I've tried. It is fantastic most of the time but for some reason I get a peppery taste at times. Did I do something wrong?

See if any of these apply:

Does it tend to happen with a freshly-charged battery? Too much power can make creams and white chocolate scorch, especially if you take a big puff. If this is the problem, you could swap to a partly-drained battery, dial down the power if you have a variable-voltage battery, or use higher ohm heads instead of low-resistance (whichever applies to the equipment you use). This is the most likely cause.

Is it mostly with a brand-new cartomizer/tank/head? Those ought to be rinsed well in hot water before the first use - or they'll sometimes add a bad taste until you've vaped with it a while.

Have you tried vaping your nic base without flavoring? Some nic base has a peppery bite that comes through when you least want it.

Is it with one particular batch? It could be you mixed with a bit too much flavoring. If so you can add a little more plain nic base to dilute it some. I doubt this is it, but I'll throw it out there as one other potential cause.

Let me give you more info. It probably is one of the things you mentioned. I am vaping on a iTaste vv V3 set between 6 and 7 watts and a MPT3 with a 1.5 ohm dual coil. I had used the same head for another flavor but cleaned it and this juice was great for a bit. I have only mixed one batch. Is it possible that it became too strong as it steeped? I mixed it Friday and vaped it all weekend and it was fabulous. I still get some good hits but seems more and more are peppery. Thinking I could change the coil and if that don't work dilute the mix some. Want to make a much bigger batch but want to get this figured out first. By the way, thanks for this recipe!

OK, I have discovered the problem has more than one cause. Partly my fault and partly yours:p I changed the coil and it got much better for awile then the peppery taste came back. That's when I realized this stuff is so damn good (your fault) I have been chain vaping it and getting vapors tongue.
As I said, I have absolutely no experience with DIY but read somewhere on here about folks complaining about the white chocolate giving a peppery taste. Do you think I should cut back just a little on that when I make my next batch (soon)? Probably should just control myself a little better......

Reducing the amount of a flavoring that's scorching won't stop it from scorching, so that's not the answer. You just need to reduce the power you're using, however that works with your setup, and you should be good to go.

I'm no expert on vaping equipment and haven't used your setup. I just use e-Go type batteries, various tanks and heads. The most sophisticated I get is a variable-voltage eGo with a tank using a head I recoiled.

Well that blows another one of my theories.....was starting to think I just needed better equipment.
