I'm really wondering how I can tell if my juice is going bad. I have stuff well over a year old, and I'll bet some here can beat that. I've stored it in a dark place and haven't yet noticed a change. No expiration dates (whatever those mean) on the bottles.

Old-timers, anything you can tell me about when to toss old juice that still looks fine? If it does go bad, how long would that likely take and would it taste different enough to know without question? Thanks for any knowledge, Family.

in here somewhere USA
I have juices that are at least a year and a half old. Most still smell the same, vape very tasty. One or two smell bad. I did not vape them and tossed them, fortunately they were partially used 10ml bottles, and I didn't like them anyway.

I don't know how to describe the bad smell, it was not as strong as vinegar, but that sort of aromatic of lingering vinegar on the salad plate. A little sour smelling I would say.

I just stick with the old saying - "When in doubt, go without."

Were you around when they had the 15ml juices on sale for $5 a piece? They were made from before V4L had custom made juices. I recently finished off the last bottle of that stuff that I had stock piled and it was the same as when I first bought it. I think those were from 2008 or early 2009. I had kept them all in my "vaping box" which is just a converted toolbox that sits at room temperature in my man cave.

OTOH, I've got "USA made" juice from another supplier that went bad after only a couple months in the same conditions. It got thick and chunky and cost a heck of a lot more.

Edit: If I remember correctly, Mary Kay picked up a bunch of bottles of Grape during that sale. She might actually still have some?

For you Jeffree old friend, I dug through my many boxes of vaping paraphernalia and found V4L Grape dated Jan 28, 2010. Seems fine, maybe a little stronger as hersch mentioned, but still maintained flavor and TH. The oldest stuff I found is Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured from Sep 2009; tasted skunky and made me want to spew - not sure if it's gone bad, or if it is one of the reasons I switched to V4L in Jan 10 and a became a rabidly loyal V4L man.

PS: There are very few people here who I would be willing to try vaping >2 yr old juice for :D

Thanks... K9, Morandir, 5vz, Darr, Keyzy, Mary Kay, hersch, Jam... did I miss anyone? I appreciate the feedback, and I'm probably not the only one to have a large stash aging. I hit a couple of big sales too darned hard early on, greedy me.

Jam, great to see you around. I'm here less myself, but I've missed that special style of yours. No need to define special. And thank you for the good words. Listen, your own efforts prompted me to inspect more carefully some of my oldest bottles (a year+), and most looked fine. But one didn't--some menth that smelled okay but had gotten very thick. I tossed it. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on the older stuff.

Thanks Jeffree - I should point out that the skunky JC TC juice was 100% PG, obviously there may be subtle differences in longevity between PG and VG (you're still at 100% VG right?), not sure how well the nicotine and flavor additives hold up in the different carrier chemistries.

Also, would like to say go Lions, but you know I can't! How about go Wings? And rather than being referred to as "special", I prefer "socially challenged" :D

Oh man, coming down hard here, no more 19-0 dreams :-( Guess the 72 Dolphins can pop the champagne again!

I wouldn't count your Lions out yet, they are starting to look a little like the Pack last year. So now I will say go Lions; if the Pack loses to anyone in the playoffs, I would hope it would be Detroit, NO, or SF - got a lot of respect for those 3, Suh aside of course.

Sorry for the OT, only deviated because it was your thread.

I recently finished a bottle from LiteCig that had expired. It was 2 years and a couple of months old. It was still minty which is surprising because it started its life as 555. LOL I kid, I kid. It was (DeKang) "Mint" and still vaped as normal mint... it may have burned a little quicker than normal but I may be imagining that.

I do love me some good Defense. :D

Remember the old "Steel Curtain" of the 1970's? (Yeah, I still like Pittsburgh!)
Those were the days . . . :)

(Edited to clarify, due to cross-posting. :) That's what I get for going OT!)
