I thought maybe someone like me was snowed in today and might be patient enough to take the time to explain something to me.

1. I've heard 'mods' referred to and heard that they are nearly indestructable. Are they something people make in their shop, or are they something people buy? If they can be purchased, any recommendations?

2. what makes them more durable than an e cig?

3. if they are something people can buy, are any compatable with V4L cartomizers?

4. How do they work, how do they differ from the V4L ecigs that I am currently using?

5. I've heard some references to them lasting entire weekends without needing recharging. True??

6. what are the pros and cons?

7. Any other details or info would be much appreciated.

THANK YOU!!!

i don't know a ton about ecigs but i think i can still answer most of your questions

mods are modifications that you can either buy or do yourself, some are more complex then others so some require shops and others you can do at home. im not sure what you mean when you ask if they are indestructible, unless your asking can you run over it with a truck or drop it off a building and not break...in that case then i highly doubt it.

there are MANY different mods out there, some for batteries, some for atomizers, some for carts.

Let me preface this with the fact that I've only been at this for 3 months. I've got a 5v mod on order and here's why.

I'm not sure they're popular because they're "indestructable". I don't think "regular" e-cigs are particularly fragile. I think it's more performance based. Regular batteries and atomizers have a life span. I haven't experienced it yet but I've heard from a few weeks to a couple months. Also, as we've all witnessed, ouor tiny cigarette sized batteries don't hold a charge very long. While some mods are designed to hold more juice, etc., the majority are designed to provide more battery power (higher voltage) or longer battery life between chargings.

Some are home-made. Many have been put into production.

I think just about anything can be adapted to a cartomizer. I've recently started using them with my 901 and will continue to use them with my mod. They're the best, IMO.

I haven't experienced it yet but I've read the same claims about battery life. This is my main reason for purchasing. I'd like to go all day on one batt.

Pros are all mentioned above. For me the only con is size. Mods are larger, sometimes much larger. Important to find one that "fits" well.

Look for "mod" threads in the general discussion and reviews areas.
