Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm new to vaping, I started sometime in June with one of the disposable e-cigs you can buy in a tobacco store. I wasn't satisfied so I did what I should have in the first place and started looking around online and man was I suprised to find this whole new world of people like me who needed to quit smoking and had tried everything else to no avail. I'll never be able to afford one of the beautiful mods I've seen on here but it's nice to dream lol. I did manage to stretch my budget and get a KGO much much better than the disposable.
I guess I should tell you the reason I turned to vaping, after watching my grandmother, uncle and Mom all die from small cell carcioma from smoking my girls couldn't stand the thought of me smoking. I have a grandson that I want to see grow up and thanks to vaping I now know I can quit smoking. My girls are thrilled and so am I because I don't want my girls to watch me pass because of a cancer that is completely avoidable.
So here I am and glad to be here. I've been lurking for quite some time and decided it was time register and to join in. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
I'd like to say even though I was just lurking I'd like to thank you all for the information you have put up here for us newbies to see and learn from.

Thanks bunches and bunches

Your right it does take a kick in the head. To be honest I've seen lung cancer take so many people more than just my family members because I'm a nurse, I'm disabled and no longer practicing but I remember each and every patient and they're family's, I remember holding the family members as they cried and I'll never forget them. I nursed my mother while she battled it and I still didn't quit but finally decided for her birthday even though she's no longer here my gift to her was going to be quitting smoking. It's a gift I should have given to her , my kids, my grandson and myself a long time ago.
Now I'm telling everyone I know that they can quit that there's a way and I can't count the people I've handed my KGO to and told them instead of lighting that cigarette for just that one to just give it a try and believe it or not alot of them are now wanting to know where they can get one. And I'm thrilled every time I give someone this forums web addy and tell them everything they need to know is right here.

Howdy, the kgo is a good choice, just stick with the suppliers listed on this site and you'll be alright. You may want to look into an E-Power for future use, it uses AA type batteries that are cheaper to replace and you can get spare parts to replace any part of it. In the long run it'll be cheaper than most out there, but for now get used to the kgo and learn how things work first and you'll be alright.

I've decided to save the money I would save from not buying cigarettes and try to get a better set-up and I've been looking at the e-power and it does look like the way to go at least until I can get myself one of the amazing mods I've seen on here. And thank you so much for the encouragement and advice you are already giving. No more blundering around trying to figure it out, I can ask the experts. Doing a snoopy dance already lol

Thank you for the welcome mtv0987, Hellen A. Handbasket, HzG8rGrl, BardicDruid, throatkick, and jj2.
I figure I will be taking part in one thing on here as often as possible and thats the contests and lurking in the classifieds lol.
I already have a question it's the one that seems to be an issue for everyone, it's e-juice. Whats the best mix of pg to vg to get the best vapor and throat hit with a KGO. To be succesful I need that throat hit and as good of a vapor as possible with my KGO and I know already from reading on here that having the right mix of your juice to work with the device you have is key, has anyone figured it out with the KGO all sugestions are welcome and apreciated.

Hi Donna

And welcome to ECF. I'm only new to vaping myself. I did have 100% PG however the vape wasn't great on it so I've just purchased some VG and am trying my hand at some home mixing, having quite good success with 20/80 mix. I know you can buy already mixed juices but as I had quite alot of PG I thought id try this. Let me know how you get on?

Happy vaping

Hi Donna & welcome to ECF! I'm new myself (2.5 weeks), and love vaping! I haven't smoked an analog since 8/10/11, the day I got my Go-Go (after 25+ years of smoking)! I love this, and am so glad I found this place to help. Ask away, as there are loads of people with good answers ready to help us newbies. :)

Congratulations on not smoking. Our 9 year old Grand daughter (not really related just love her lke one) got after my wife to stop smoking and we bagan vaping. For me, it was instant transformation and a new love! for the wife, not so easy. She smoked 3-4 packs a day, but is now down to a pack every 4-8 days. Our cost smoking cheapie cigs was $525 a month, our initial investment going with the eGo-t's was overpriced at $190 which included 2 30ml bottles of juice, but this still saved us over $300 the first month.
The months to follow costs for vaping were only about $30 for the both of us, so the savings was HUGE already. Now we make our own and also sell it, so our cost is actually in the negative now.

Happy vaping and hope you can help spread the word by example

Hello Monster 74
Thank you for the welcome. Like you I've about decided I should try my hand at mixing so maybe we could bounce ideas off each other and figure this out. Please keep me posted on how it's working out for you and I'll do the same. Do you mind me asking what e-cig your using?

Thanks bunches

Hello sonicdsl

Huge congrats on completely stopping analogs. Like you I'm thrilled I found ECF and all the wonderful people on here. There's so many people on here so willing to help each other out I found that out with my weeks of lurking on here. As many e-cigs as I've looked at I don't think I've seen the Go-Go is it kinda like the KGO?

A big Hello to Texas_ Tanker

Thank you for the welcome. Like you one of my biggest motivators to stop smaking is my grandson. I figure with everything he has gone thru and still has to face me stopping smoking is a very small thing in comparison. His first major surgery he wasn't quite six months and he's had several since and still has a kidney transplant to face, so yeah he is a huge motivator for me. He's absolutely amazing.
With the money I save I'm going to save it and use it to do more things for him and with him and put a little of it back to get me a better ecig. I didn't know they could not only be pretty but powerhouses too.
You mentioned you also sell ecig stuff do you mind me asking what sort of stuff you sell? Guess I'm being nosy lol

Thank you for sharing your success and progress with me
Donna

Hello Donna and welcome to ECF,
As far as the PG/VG percentage question, VG produces a lot of vapor but mutes the flavor and TH. PG give a lot of TH but has very little vapor production. Also you get some TH and satisfaction from the nicotine level. It really is just a combination of the three. I would recommend just trying different juices and seeing what works best for you. Best of Luck!
