Hi, folks:

this is is my first post. I'm not an e-cig user ... Yet. I did all my research and settled on V2, and ordered a starter kit and some cartridges. That was twelve days ago. They're due to arrive today. It was exactly 6.5 days before the package was dropped off at FedEx. I'm pretty disgusted by that, but it gets worse: V2 is currently having a 25% off sale, but as a vet, I get a 15% off discount and three-day shipping (though it'd prolly still take 'em 6.5 days to stick the stupid package in the mail). Thought I'd take advantage of the sale ... But if I do, I don't get the three-day shipping. It's either get 15% off and three day shipping, or else get 25% off and forever shipping.

so I'm disgusted all around, and I don't even have the product yet. What I wanna do is to ship the stuff back when it gets here and go with a company who's conscientious and gets stuff to me quicker because the LAST thing I want to do is to get off cigarettes and then find myself without them and hafta go back to smoking the nasty things because shipping delays 'cause me to be without e-cigs again in spite of my best efforts to keep myself stocked in them.

(I'd like to add that I'm a disabled vet, and it's not as if I can simply keep sending off $100 at a time to keep myself in large boxes of cartridges any time I want to.)

I'd be grateful if one of you would recommend to me a really good, dependable, and tasty e-cig which has reasonable and fast shipping and not stupid, lackadaisical shipping. If you'd avoid a lot of e-cig jargon (I can barely understand most of the posts here!), it would help a lot.

thanks ever so much.

(wow, is the text in this forum small. Is there a skin with bigger text? I'm having to prop my iPad on my knees up near my face to type this, and my elbows are jutting out at weird angles to type.)

Are you asking for a site that will ship your e juice fast? or are you going to order another kit with a different mod? If its juice you want, i personally order from mtbakervapor, they're located out of washington, i live in illinois and other than with an upcoming weekend or holiday, ive never waited more than 3 days for my order to arrive with their standard shipping.

Mount Baker or 101vape.com. Both ship very fast in my experience.
Placed an order with 101vape late friday night; would have been here today except for the snowstorm; coming tomorrow instead.

This is a good starter kit from MBV:
Kanger Evod Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes
(You'll need some e-liquid, too, and MBV has great prices and reasonable quality.)

And send back the V2. Those cigalikes with the cartridges are a terrible way to start vaping!!!!

FYI - Some online vendors have reported delays in shipping due to all the snow.

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.

I don't know what "e juice" or a "mod" are. I'm shipping my starter kit back, so I need an entire starter kit. I'm going with a different vendor for the whole thing. I'll see what mtbakervapor is. I didn't read about that brand in my e-cig reviews. Thanks!

Mount Baker isn't a manufacturer or a brand, they're a vendor who carries products from lots of other companies.

And stay away froim anything that uses "pre-filled" cartridges. You should really start with a tank style (the kit I suggested earlier comes with EVOD tanks, and you fill them (over and over again) with your own liquid.)

There are, of course other more advanced options, but for an inexpensive basic starter kit the one I mentioned isn't bad.

Especially once you get use to vapping.
You'll probably vape alot when u first start, cause your use to smoking ciggs.

Mt. Baker Vapor is awesome! Start with the Kanger Mega Emow kit ($50) and their e-juice (that is the liquid you put in the tank to vape) is great flavors and great price too. Shipping is fast and predictable. Get 10% off using coupon code-vaporfrombaker
The Kanger kit has variable voltage to tailor your vape to your taste, has a 1600 mah battery (which means it will last all day before having to recharge) , and has adjustable airflow on the liquid reservoir to also tailor your vape.
Great place to start, you won't be disappointed. It's mtbakervapor.com
Oh, they have a ton of flavors to choose from....try a few.
And they have free shipping for orders over $50 !
Good luck, and enjoy!

Uh, okay. I thought they were the e-cig and the cartridge.

i can't understand a word on the Mt. Baker site. It looks as if it's for pros. I need one geared towards beginners.

Did you check out the link in my post? That is a good kit for beginners. Comes with 2 complete setups (so you can vape on one while the other one is charging) and even with a 15ml bottle of e-liquid. For the e-liquid, pick a flavor you like, a 50/50 blend, and perhaps 12mg strength (assuming you're an average smoker). If you're a light smoker, perhaps 6 mg; if you're a heavy smoker, go 18mg.

This is an easy kit to use, and will give you good performance without much complexity at all.

Add a couple extra bottles of other juice (pick different flavors) and you'll be well on your way!

vaping consists of using a "unit" ( ecig, mod, atty etc many names are used for the same general item) the unit consists of a battery holder with a switch ( mod) and a tank which holds the fluid to be vaporized, the tank also holds a wick and coil which is heated by the battery creating the vapor to be inhaled delivering the nicotine. The tank will be emptied as it is used and will require refilling, the coil will eventually become "clogged" and will need to be replaced ( 3-9 days on avg) there are prefilled "tanks" one can purchase, but the costs are as expensive as ciggies and less satisfying. There are "throw away" vape pens ( e cigs) that last about a day but cost anywhere from 5-9$ each ( very costly in the long run)...

as you learn more about the plethora of choices that are out there you will see that just simply getting a kit is more daunting than expected, but have faith, do some reading, youtubing, become aquainted with the terminology..and ask questions... there are plenty of people here that can give good answers and ALOT of opinions ;)

and Welcome to ECF :)

I started V2 also, what you are now using I believe are called cig-a-likes...V2 was great but has changed over a period of time,I read they were bought by a large cig company..I mean to say their service was great,I ordered by phone but towards the last I could never get through..Finally I started researching e cigs,"vaping"..I stopped by a local smoke,"vape" shop for advice...Best move I made,I left with two istick, batterys, and two nautilus mini's,thats what you put the e juice in..Vaping these devices is another world compared to V2 cig a likes or any other brand of same...I truley enjoy my "smoking",vaping now...FWIW,I have found vermillion river very reliable for hardware and e liquid...Good luck,Bob

Most of us has started off with a kit. Twist batteries are ok, except you cant use one while they charge.
Methinks to saving money and time.
One should start out with a Sigelei V5 ($23.00)
It can use either or battery 18350 ot 18650 battery.
($14 for two batteries)
Panasonic is the wtg unless you get into Mech's.
Decent batterie charger like Nitecore ($15.00).
After that all youll ever need is juice.
Pro tanks with "adjustable air flow" is best.
You can adjust it to your liking.
Replacent coils can be had for under eighty cents each. One last you a couple to three weeks.
A charged Panasonic battery last 29hrs usely. It last me 15 or more hours cause I vape alot.
If u try the Sigelei V5 and run a protank, just set it at 3.3 volts.

Click on the link twgbonehead provided above. This is a good starter kit, for a reasonable price. You will get everything you need to get started vaping. Click on the tab that says "Nicotine Juice" to look over the eliquids that Mt. Baker Vapor has and see what flavor appeals to you for your free bottle. You will probably want to start off with 50/50 pg/vg ratio. You may also see a couple of other flavors that you want to try.

What kind of cigarettes do you smoke - full flavor, lights, ultra lights? About how much do you smoke per day? This information will help decide what nicotine level you should try. My daughter prefers 18 mg nicotine, I use 12 mg nicotine. We actually quit smoking around 9 years ago, and started vaping around 3 years ago, when cravings and stress were getting the better of us. Thanks to vaping, we are still ex-smokers.

One thing to be aware of with this kit - the tanks are polycarbonate, and some eliquids can ruin them. Until you can get a glass tank - the Kanger Protank 2 Mini is a good one, and will use the same coils that the Evod tanks take - take careful note as to whether the eliquid is listed as a "tank cracker".

You will probably want to order a couple of packs of replacement coils at the same time. The Evod kit uses the Kanger single coils, as does the Protank 2 Mini. My daughter and I like the 2.2 ohm coils.

If you have any questions, Mt. Baker Vapor has a "Live Chat" feature so you can ask away while putting your order together.

Welcome to ECF. Once you get started, I think you will enjoy vaping. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask for advice or information here.
