Ill add I used to use the kick with GGTS. I prefer the coils closer to 1 ohm so I've abandoned the kick. But to make the kick perform the best, I'd make sure you have brass pins, etc. if your kick doesn't have a good snug connection, you may need to slightly pull the kick spring to secure the contact.

So Cali
i thought k7ck would make battery last longer. im still getting used to building coils, currently its at 1.8ohms. my first was 2.4....im going to try and get it down to 1...but seems a little diff7cult....barely any wraps to get that 1ohms. im using 32 a1 kanthal as my R wire...may need to get 34 so 7 can get a few more wraps for 1ohms with 34

Did all this , even cleaned with ultrasonics and still gave problems , I think people need to know that not all kicks are equal , its like playing a lottery when buying one and I'm not about to make Evolv a winner.

If you're going to use a Kick, then you don't need a 1.0 ohm coil. But if you are going to do a 1.0 ohm, use 30 awg to get more wraps not 34 awg.
I use 1.0 ohm coils without the kick now but in my experience the kick works very well with the GGTS if all of your contacts are brass and you have polished the inside of your tube where the kick makes contact. The kick will definitely struggle though without brass contacts.
As the battery gets low and you begin to have misfires, you can loosen/retighten your tube a little to reseat your connection for better firing.

I was referring to cleaning , not using 1 ohm coils . BTW you don't get misfires when the batteries get low , what you get is pulsation so you know your battrey is low . Yeah I have brass contacts and I have cleaned them and I cleaned my ggts in a industrial ultrasonic bath . Let me repeat it ggts and kick are not a good match , not all kicks are equal and buying them is a lottery . Also note that my kick works well in my precise plus but that doesn't have half the connections a ggts has .

I was replying to jkim's post #9, not yours. And I only gave him my opinion and experience based from using 3 different Kicks in several GGTS's. Your experience is obviously different.

No worries, it was my fault for not posting the quote.

Without brass it was horrible. It's been a while but from what I remember it was maybe 3.8v without brass before it became too much of a pain to bother with. With brass the battery was about 3.6v when it started stuttering but with periodic reseating the tube, I could use it almost hassle free down to about 3.3v. I've never used a kick in another mod so I can't compare those but the difference between brass and not in the GGTS was huge for me.

When my borther uses his ggts with his kick he said it takes a couple pulls to get it to heat up. I guess it takes a second or two to even fire at times. His contacts are all brass so I'm not sure what the problem is. I just wrap his coils for him at 1.3 ohms and it works much better

Well from what I understand I think the kick is hypersensitive when it comes to ground spring , also not all kicks are as sensitive as others . thereby it works for some and not for others ( I also have all brass contacts and everything is insanely clean , used a ultrasonic bath and acetone and it still wouldn't work right in my gg )
