Thanks for the reply but I still don't understand. Why does making it in the Phillipines mean it is sold differently than something made in China. Are the laws different for importing them? I appreciate the indyvaporshop offering it this way since I don't do Facebook which is the other method of obtaining these.

But why not just sell it like any other imported product?

I think the least expensive shipping services are also the least reliable. Lost packages with no accountability. The ERA team has opted to use a more expensive, dependable service to ensure successful delivery. Large group buys splits the shipping costs among many buyers, so the price per unit is reasonable for all buyers.

Hmm. Still doesn't explain it. Seems like a vendor would have no problem selling 100 of these which is the group buy amount. No matter what the shipping cost they could just pass the cost along to the end consumer just like any other product they sell. From a consumers standpoint the current group buy method seems more complex than it needs to be.

I guess It is just a function of the demand far exceeding the supply. They can pass the risk of lost shipment off on the consumer. I look forward to a time when these are sold like any other product.

So just checked out the website. Was wondering what's the difference between all the options In the drop down menu? Which is best to use on a reo? Top torch, top ss, bottom torch, bottom ss?? And all the bamboo tips are just diff colours and oen reall matter right?

The one to order for the Reo's will be the bottom feed ones and you can pick between the Stainless finish and the torched finish.

On one hand, I completely agree with you; but, as a small business owner for many many years, I'll venture a guess that shelling out 6 or 7 thousand dollars with the (remote) risk of losing it all to some corrupt customs agent is too much to risk..the way these SHOULD be sold is that the maker in the Philippines assumes the risk of loss, but I imagine it's too big of a loss for them to accept as well...sort of a catch-ERA. Then, of course, there would have to be a mark up for the retailer, too..say 20 or 25 bucks..that poses the unanswered question as to how the ERA would sell if it cost $100 instead of $70 ish...

Best answer is for someone in the U.S. to clone this baby, just like the Chinese clone everything, and sell it for 50 bucks.

It does explain it, as far as how and why the group buy process is conducted.

As to the issue of vendors making large quantity purchases and reselling the ERA, the vendors want to pay less and charge more per unit than what is acceptable to the producers of the ERA. That may change in the future. Or it might not.

As previously stated I too am thankful for the folks at indyvaporshop running the group buy.
Mudflat interesting that the maker of these is concerned about the final cost to consumers and the markup vendors want to charge. Admirable indeed.

Listen nautty1 capitals and periods help when posting so others can follow your meaning. I fully understand the advantages of rebuildable atomizers. That's why I'm posting about them and following what seems to be a fairly priced, quality solution .. the ERA. I'll stop posting in your thread now. Didn't mean to upset you.
