And me, well... I like to hit the ground running... Go big or go home, right? :p

(and yes I've done an immense amount of research before doing anything stupid... I knew exactly what I needed to do before I bought or built anything...)

Started vaping 3 weeks ago with a Halo Triton kit. It was great but I've always been a modder. It's in my blood. My cars, my clothes, my music studio, everything needs to be tailored to ME and unique....

Last week, I bought an eVic and messed around with some more "high end" clearos... none of them were as good as my Triton was.

Then... to get the most of my eVic, I ordered a Kayfun Lite Plus clone. It came in yesterday but, after watching every major vaping channel on YouTube... I knew what I wanted... a Mechanical.

Before even building my Kayfun, today I drove an hour to my closest REAL vape shop. Picked up a Maraxus clone and a Nimbus and some lower-nic higher VG juices.

I know what you may be thinking.... I built some basic coil around some silica in the Kayfun and blissfully vaped my first real mod... right? WRONG.

I got home, immediately drilled out my Nimbus to 5/16ths and built a 0.6ohm 28g dual microcoil and stuffed it with organic cotton. After checking the ohms and for shorts/hot spots on my eVic, I put that bad boy up on my Maraxus and blew a NICE cloud.

After that, The Kayfun needed some lovin'. Built a 1.4ohm Micro-Coil for that one, organic cotton, and filled 'er up with some good ol' Mother's Milk.... planted her on my eVic and BOOM! In love...

My eGos will be nice when I need to go out to the bar or club or something, but I will most DEFINITELY be enjoying mods more than anything else from this point on. I've discovered a whole new world and it's beautiful.

And don't worry, my batteries are protected and rated for 30A.

I'll post pics tomorrow when my Siam 18350 Mod comes in for my eVic and it looks pretty :2cool:

TL;DR : MODDING IS SICK AS T!TS

Nice set-ups man. It seems from your posts you like to dive into things head first and also seems like your a fast learner. Three weeks into vaping and your rocking RBAs talking bout micro coils, amps, and ohms.

I've always been iffy on terminology maybe someone could clear me up, aren't "mods" a term for the device that provides the power to your atomizer? And RBAs are what you would put on top of a "mod"... And when I hear" modding" I think of someone actually building a device that provides the power. Like building a custom DNA mod. Hmmm, now I'm just thinking into the keyboard, please pay no mind to me it's late.

haha yeah I'm an insomniac so I have wayyyy too much quiet time between 12am-4am that this past month I've been just watching every vaping related YouTube vid... (shout out to Twisted420 for being my favorite channel)

I refer to modding as the act of building my own coils and customizing my setups.. I'm sure to some people it may mean different things.

A mod, in my mind, is any APV or Mechanical. Basically any device that runs a battery to your atomizer. eGos and Cigalikes wouldn't be considered mods because the battery IS the device. Although, I'd consider a mod anything you can actually modify so I suppose a VV eGo battery would technically still be a mod being that you can modify the voltage.

I apologize if the title was misleading, although I'd love to create actual mods, I don't have any of the machining resources or experience to accomplish such a feat.

and yeah, I love to skip learning curves. Anything I'm passionate about I devote a ton of time to researching it. After watching a ton of newbie to expert "how-to" videos I was confident that I would know how to build a micro coil the second I had the chance and I was right hah. There really isn't anything to it. At first I was scared to start messing with batteries and building coils but thanks to GrimmGreen, Twisted420, PBusardo and all the other YouTube guys, my fears were put to rest pretty quickly and I decided I wanted to turn my smoking cessation technique into a full blown hobby.

Cigarette free for one month exactly since today!

The terms are used freely many ways by many people... But... A mod is anything altered from it's original manufactured state. Most devices are advanced personal vaporizers APV's, not mods.. example - a dripper is just a dripper until you drill out the air hole. Now it's a mod.

Oh boy... I now have a custom engraved V3Tronix Flip and an Igo-W3 in the collection... Patiently waiting for a custom clear acrylic top cap and drip tip for the Igo to give it a unique look. Built my first quad-coil at .5 ohms.

I'm not buying any more mods for a while... I'm super cereal. Unless I can get my hands on an Origen RDA soon... hmm... NO... STOP... BAD STYLITE...

I blame TwistedChild316 aka VapingWithTwisted4**

Everytime he gets riled up about a product I'm always itching to pick it up. The KayFun clone was first, then the Maraxus clone, and then THE FREAKIN' GENUINE V3TRONIX FLIP.

Tempted to try out the 3D (Dimi's Dream Dripper) clone but the overall consensus of the vape community is very "meh" about it.

Curses, Twistedchild, CURSES!!!

No, just kidding, I love your channel, keep doing your thang!

I've stopped using my eGos completely and I'm currently passing on a big haul of 18mg juices to a buddy of mine... I have like 16 juices I can't even vape anymore because of the high nicotine content. I've only been dripping except when I use my KayFun while driving.

Uh oh  time to progress to a bottom feeder!
All the joys of dripping without the hassle of dripping!:2cool:

Alex, is your second pic there an igo-f by any chance?

In that pic, the one on the Reo is an RM2 and the one on the Magneto in the background is a Stratus Dripper.
Only been 1 small run of those handmade Stratus Dippers I believe and it is seriously considering becoming a bottom feed atty.

Thanks Alex, never read much about it I've been too busy building coils lol. Just a bottom feed rba similar in style to the aga-t or rsst isn't it?

It is a Triangle atty Triangle Stainless Steel Rebuildable Atomizer that Rob highly modifies for bottom feeding. I have a few of the Triangles for spare parts, and unless you have a lathe and time it is well worth the extra cost to get the ready to go version from Rob. reomizer 2.0 rba Pictures are worth a thousand words: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-itself-rebuild-pic-heavy-5.html#post10731121
