Why 21700...?

So, I recently purchased the Gaur-21 with the Valyrian II Pro, and the mod is 21700 and 18650 compatible. I was curious as to the benefits of the 21700 batteries, because I’ve only used 18650s.

So either longer runtime between charges or the ability to power low resistances with a higher margin of safety.

But of course there's more than one 21700 to choose from, and if you're running high MTL resistances you can go for as much capacity as you can get really.

I got my first 21700 mods last week (squeeze2) and got a couple mollicell p42a's and they are great. I don't need the high amps, but they last a lot longer than the 18650's I've been using and will do 45amps if I ever needed it.

@borno, the Molicel P42A is the best all round 21700 you can get at the moment.

Have a few at one side for the SL Class and Hadron mods, but I do use more of the CDR with DTL.

Their bulk and weight, and the fact that if your mods were designed for 18650s, they simply don't fit.

A good 21700 battery will fire your mod much longer between recharges and can handle far greater amperage draws than an 18650 battery can provide. I use Molicel P42A 21700 batteries, 4000mAh with a 45 amp CDR. You can't get anywhere near those ratings with an 18650 yet they cost the same and often less. I started using 21700 batteries about two years ago and it's one of the better upgrades I've made. The extra capacity is certainly handy and useful, the added safety/peace of mind a 45 amp CDR brings is icing on the cake.

I am a fan of Molicel batteries as well.

The main disadvantage of 2700 is the increase in size and weight.
But that's how it goes, if you want more capacity you need more physical stuff.

I have two dual 26650 mods. Yes they are heavy but the batteries last all weekend.

My squonker takes a 21700. I can vape a full 9ml bottle and when I swap batteries, they have generally not fallen below 3.7V.
I loves me some 21700's.
