These were prefilled 555 cartos 18mg and are fairly new, only been refilled once. I rinsed them all out and started over. Reduced my nic to 6mg and it is still choking. I get less harshness with an auto bat (but still cough), cant even think about vaping with my pt or man bat.

Are the pt and man batt's that much higher voltage to cause a super harsh burn, even with a lower nic?

I want to make these cartos work, they are so hassle free, would be great if they werent so harsh especially first thing in the morning. I can vape 18 and 24mg juice with my 901 atty no problem, very smooth with my manual or pt.

Most people draw it into thier mouth and then take it into thier lungs. Otherwise, have you tried the vg instead of pg liquid?

We do draw into the mouth then inhale, and we have tried reducing the 18mg with vg to see if that helped (that is the juice I just rinsed out - we had it down to 9-12mg, still too strong) and now the 6mg (cough cough)

Just cant seem to get these refilled right or sumthing?

Did i read that we could alter the 901 auto batts to accomodate the carto's? I may have to find that post, just fix all my 901 auto batts up and use those for my cartos, and use my 808 manuals for my atty's! (mix and match) lol

I really like that these cartos dont leak, and my V4L manual batt lasts a really long time.

I think the vapor on a 901 is a little cooler, just because of the distance from the cart to the atty - maybe that is making it feel more harsh to you. You could try removing the white mouthpiece and rubber o-ring and using an empty 901 mouthpiece, or slipping an 801 mouthpiece over the end. The latter would probably be preferable as you wouldn't introduce the potential for leaks.

thanks guy, wish that worked for me. I do use the 901 tip on my cartos, but i cannot vape them with my pt at all...way too harsh. Interesting about the heat, I thought my attys got pretty warm - but its about the same as the cartos. From what I can tell it is mainly betwen the auto and pt batts, those auto batts apparently do produce near the heat the pt or manuals do.

Since I have more auto batts I am going to try to modify them to accomodate the cartos, still lookin for that post that showed how to slot the threads for airlflow.

They're not harsh, they are just a bit impolite.

It may not be the nicotine that's causing the reaction. It might just be the flavoring being vaporised at the higher temp.

I believe that 901 batts are acutally giving about 3.1V.
The V4L batt is delivering true 3.4V and the PT heats up with 5V.

I have noticed that when I start to vape one of the fruit flavors I get that major chest hit that dislodges all of that gunk in my lungs. Kinda makes me wonder if the vapor is acting as some kind of solvent clearing that stuff out of my lungs.

After 4 or 5 vapes that chest hit moderates and no more coughing spells. This does not happen when I vape menthol or tobacco flavors. 36mg 555, no problem. 12mg Peach will cause me throw a lung biscuit every time.

Don't give up.

well this is from my experience.. since you said you washed and refilled... If they didn't seem harsh new and pre-filled and they do now.. then the answer might be that your refill hasn't soaked through to the element, and you are vaping that part dry... or you had vaped them dry initially and you perma "burnt your cart....

harshness from a liquid you know isn't too strong for you.. is 99% because of a not fully soaked carto... but still with some residual moistness

Appreciate the thought Ducky, but the reason I washed and refilled (and wasted a bunch of liquid) was because they were too harsh 18mg, so I refilled them with 6mg...still coughing. Its not so bad with the auto batt.

Can anyone help me find that link where they showed how to "slot" the 901 batts for airflow?? I searched yesterday and couldnt find it.
