K so i got my replacement PT in Saturday and they sent me a auto this time instead of my usual manual... Anyways I am sitting here feeling like I'm sucking a dang watermelon through a straw and even then some times it wont "click on" to give me some vapor!

Am I doing some thing wrong or is there some thing wrong with the PT? Can it be fixed?? This is my second replacement, the first manual PT kept getting hot on the carto side when it wasn't even being used...now I cant get vapor from this auto!!

Any clue? All I want to do is :vapor: at my PC without the use of my batts!

Hi Mikey,

First of all, always unplug your passthru when it's not being used. Just a safety thing.

Secondly, if you notice on the passthru, there are holes on the sides of the battery threads. On the cartomizers, you will notice notches. Make sure one of the holes and notches lines up, allowing for some airflow.

Lastly, there may just simply be something lodging the airflow.

Often, a decrease in performance (including ability to charge and function properly) is a sign that the battery connection point is blocked. First, take a pin and clean any debris out of the holes in the battery. Then, dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and swab the connection point. It’s best to do this weekly for all batteries. Let me know if this helps. About 80% of the time, this is the issue.

Could it be the cartomizer?
I have bought V4L cartos that did not have a deep enough air-groove, causing
airflow to be quite impossible only when screwed on to a non-grooved battery or PT.

The groove I'm talking about is the one across the centerpost, and every cartomizer must have one. This is an air channel. It is where the wind flows in to the cartomizer.
If it's not very deep, then this is what limits your airflow. It doesn't matter if your battery or PT has 3 holes or 1,000 of them. If the centerpost groove is not there or worn out, the cartomizer will simply not get air (after you screw it on). It makes no difference if you turn them north or south, or clean the holes or not. This air channel has to be there or nothing will work.

I'm getting just air when I suck and the PT will not click on...So air flow check, PT working ehh 20% of the time.....

Request a replacement, either manual, or auto, with next order....tell em Steve told too. Be specific for color, and we will getcha going correctly:toast:

Enjoy

Yeah sounds like you got a tough switch.. I'm assuming you are using an auto PT. I've got a battery that allows too much air flow and hence doesn't "switch on" unless I pull really hard. Toothpick mod helps some (but is annoying), cut condom mod works well too (also annoying), and somebody in the past filled the holes with an epoxy and redrilled new, smaller holes (sorry for lack of credit, can't remember well in this heat).

BUT, Steve posted to get it replaced via warranty, I'd definitely take him up on that offer in your position.
