Why can't I get over 20 watts with a 0.5 SS316 coil?

Thanks! That's reassuring that I'm not doing anything majorly wrong. How is the flavor production with your coil? I'm not getting harsh hits and getting an okay amount of vapor production, but I'm not exactly getting *strong* flavor. If everything else is okay, it's probably just my juice.

The flavor is good, and the vapor production is good. Some are better than others, because Kanger can be inconsistent, as others have said. What I usually do is prime the coil, fill up the tank, then let it sit over night. By morning, it's good to go. If I prime the coil and vape it right away, the flavor isn't good because of how much cotton they pack in there. Hope that helps!

Update: Not sure what changed, just tried TC again and i can easily get close to 350 on TC with no issues whatsoever. Things seem to be normalizing!.. I'll try that Ni200 coil again in a week or two.

Nooo! Run for the hills. I've yet to experience a Kanger Ni200 that actually works.
Rarer than flying pigs. :p

Haha! Thanks for the input. I'm more than happy to say screw it to the Ni200s.

And update: getting my best vape yet at around 350F TC with the SUS316. Big clouds and great flavor. I don't know what changed, but it's working and I'm happy! Sorry to bother everyone with all the questions, seems like I could have worked it out by myself by just tinkering a little

Great! At first I tried only letting it sit for 5 mins, and the result was 'eehh'. I let it sit for about 30 and retried, and it was much better

BTW, does anyone have an opinion/experience with Kanger Ceramics? I don't know if I should start a new thread just about that, but I did pick up a pack of them out of curiosity and have yet to try them.

The Ceramic and Ni200 were not for me. I got a funky taste from both that wouldn't go away. :nah:

Great, thanks for the reading material. At the moment, I'm getting good vapor and flavor, so now I'm at a good point to comfortably read up on how I can tweak things to make everything a little better. I'm pretty happy with the equipment I got, so that I have a rig that's capable of giving me better quality the more I learn

Edit: and while I've heard the TC function can be an unnecessary complication for new vapers, after just a little bit of TnE, I'm actually really glad I have it!

Hmm interesting. What coils do you usually prefer to use?

Edit: and what temps (for TC) or wattage ranges do you usually vape at?

Always helps to get user input

If I use premade, I prefer the Kanger stainless steel SSOCC at ~20 watts. I mainly prefer the coils (SS or Kanthal) I build myself though. I stick with power mode. Not a fan of temp control.

Ah okay, nice. I'm going to wait awhile until I try building my own.

Jw, any reason you don't like to use TC?

I tried it a few times and TC just seemed overly complicated when I already knew the sweet spot for power mode. It's also possible that the Kanger Ni200 turned me off to TC. I'll try it again at some point though.
