Why do some PG liquids produce more vapor than other PG liquids?

I'm not talking about VG (although I have tons of it and love it), just PG strictly. I have a variety of PG liquids some from the same supplier and others from different ones. All of them seem to vary in vapor production on a fresh battery. I'm not flooding the atomizer at all.

So why is it that some PG liquids make more vapor than other PG liquids? Anyone?

It could have to do with the quality or freshness of the PG, but more likely would be how much other stuff (nic, flavorings, PGA for throat hit) are in the mix. I would generally assume the PG bases out there should be equal, as the manufacturer should be using USP grade stuff and not industrial grade.
I agree I assumed all PG liquids would be equal in the ingredient ratio as well. May be because, like you said, I might not have USP grade in a couple of my liquids - that would suck!

Imagine one flavoring like the vanilla you buy in a grocery store, thin and runny like water. Imagine another flavoring thick and gooey like molasses. The juice made with that would most likely need extra water added to thin down the gooeyness. I'd think things like that would change the amount of vapor. Even with flavorings of the same consistency if one would be vapor producing and one wouldn't that too would change the vapor output. Just my guesses as to why.

Hm. I've never played with the DIY liquids before (and have never worked with food flavorings for any other purpose). I'm a bit surprised that there would be differences in the consistency of the flavors like that, and have assumed they were all fairly homogeneous.

There are likely to be wildly varying chemical inconsistencies between flavors, and consequently, their interaction with the VG/PG is going to vary greatly as well.

Do DIY liquids produce more vapor than those pre-made ones?

As a noob, I can only report what I have read and the little experience that I have. VG makes better vapor in general than PG, so as a DIY'er you can change the ratio's to suit your preference on taste vs. vapor. Many of the places that sell e-juice also sell a mix of PG/VG or some even let you specify the ratio that you want, but in general the more VG, the better vapor.
