Why do you drip?

Why do you drip?

  • I'm on the bleeding edge of technology.

  • I rebel against the established norms of society.

  • I'm very open-minded. To the point of self destruction.

  • My flooded atty is noisy and attracts attention to me.

  • I like squeezing my juice bottle. I like squeezing a lot of things.

  • When I drip without a cart, my lips taste like a barbequed pork chop.

  • It really is a better vape, stupid.

I lot of the responses are describing serious advantages of dripping. In my book this is very helpful. However, after I have counted the absentee ballots, it's clear that so far, most of you just like to squeeze things.

And I guess I also forgot a good choice, that might be leading if I had included it:

"I'm just plain BAD."

I'm on the fence about direct dripping and would like to intervene on this: i fear that if i forget to drip often enough i will damage my atomizer so i'm not doing it.. at least not yet.

For my vaping method, I direct inhale into my lungs, I don't draw into my cheeks first. It is very quick and apparent when the atty needs more liquid. I get a very rancid flavor usually mid draw. I immediately stop drawing on the PV, wait for the atty to cool down, then redrip.

This has been a safe method for not burning the attys up, as I can catch that flavor while I am inhaling, versus drawing on the PV for several seconds, then inhaling after the fact.

I understand the direct inhale is not a common method, but it's how I've always done it.

Thanks, and you're actually answering another question i had those last days: seeing in the vids how some people (and my sister in real life) seem to cough up directly when vaping i wondered if people directly inhaled, because it's something i'm not used to do at all !

mmm.. trying it at the moment.... ahhh, it's not difficult actually :) now i wonder in what proportion people either directly inhale or use the cheeks first, and how many on either side use direct drip or carts :D

after a few tries i think i like the "cheek method" better still. At first the vapor hits the taste buds (*) in the tongue (which is in positioned higher when inhaling this way) then I like to let some smoke (now vapor) go to my nose and i like how it makes the flavors stand out. But i will give the direct method some more tests :p

Anyway, thanks!

(*) since my grandma lost her sense of smell (which is worse than it sounds for many reasons) i read a bit about it and the tongue's taste buds are only responsible for salt/sour/bitter/sweet/umami. The nose is responsible for all flavors. When eating for example, it is the nose that makes us feel all the flavors of food, not the tongue !

I'm experimenting with this, but it is really hard to get a good seal around the atty tip with my nostril. I can see this being the ultimate nose, throat and lung hit possible, but a few questions. Is it better with the right nostril or the left. Do you pinch your nose with you fingers or just shove the atty up there until it seals?

:lol::rolleyes::D:p:shock:
Couldn't resist. Maybe I'm drifting into my fifth childhood?!?!?!?!?

I didn't vote because my reason is not listed.

I started dripping because I didn't like the taste of a drying cart and couldn't tell if I was vaping the cart filler.

Then I got tired of topping off , cleaning and refilling carts.

Now it just makes sense for me to cut out the middle man (carts). Less stuff to buy, less stuff to do & less stuff to carry.

I do flood the atty more now that I drip, but I feel that vaping at 5v has the ability to better burn it off. And if I do go through attys a little faster, so be it.

My 2c.

I drip because I have too I accidently broke off the metal fibers of my 510 atty while cleaning, It works amazing for dripping, but no longer wicks for carts, sad face,

I have to take carts to work though, no time for dripping while driving! (EMT)
Shredded PTB!!!!!!! wicks great, lasts long, and once you make it a habbit of keeping your ecig cart side down when its full it wont leak either, (once its about half full it doesnt matter anymore theres not enough pressure to make it leak)
