"Why does it smell like engine coolant in here?"

Not IN public, per se, but this is what my mom said to me after walking into my room during a hardcore vape session. =P (new flavor!)

Has anyone ever gotten this in a public place? Maybe my flavors are too strong! ♥ What do you tell people?

I'm totally aware that PG is the GRAS vaporizing ingredient in antifreeze, which explains why it smells like it. =P

I'm familiar with the smell of ethylene glycol antifreeze which very different than smell of PG.

I can't smell vapor from a flavorless PG.

Maybe others can???

Your mom probably read that misleading report that ecigs contain an ingredient in engine coolant and like any other mom is trying to protect you in a kind of misinformed way. In any way it's better than smoking analogs.

Yea, I am smoking flavored brands, but I hadn't heard anyone else mention it. Yea, my mom is kind of crazy. I'll keep on teh vape. =P

Yeah, me either. I have had people say it smelled good, like for a brief sec they smelled the flavor until it evapoated for just a second or two, but never had a neg comment. My sis n law did say my vapor burned her eyes a lil when I blew it directly in her face, but it was spearmint, lol.

Unless your mom is a mechanic, I'd say she was repeating an FDA warning to try to "help you".

I've had a friend mention that it smelled vaguely like incense before noticing I was vaping (she didn't know I did yet). That was while switching between menthol and cherry.

IT can depend on the liquid. RY4 and TAB definitely leave an odour I can detect, not to mention everyone else.

my only complaint has came from my SO, he quit smoking cold turkey years ago, he complains that the juice smells so good he wants to vape. I told him to get some 0mg and have at it lol

My husband says Kent, Cotton Candy, Cola and Dr Pepper smell like caramel corn. The fruit flavors smell like the fruit...particularly grape which has a grape jelly smell.

My friends tell me I am a walking "Plug It In" now.

Ive gotten the coolant comment from my partner at work.
he doesn't even know I vape in the building.We work as a 2 man team on a printing press that is bigger than my house. Lots of room to stealth vape. But sometimes when he comes in to my section he says he smells antifreeze

The only thing I see bad about e-cigs is it's addictive if you use liquid with nicotine in it

like cigarettes are all addictive

e-cigs are clearly more healthy... mom was misinformed

I've smelled plenty of antifreeze in my lifetime. This isn't the smell.

Thanks for all your comments guys! I'm wondering about the liquid I'm using too. I'm using the Vanilla pre-filled carts that came with my Sidesho and Reduced PG flavors from Juicy Vapor: Coffe Mocha, French Toast and Pumpkin Pie.

Everyone's told me they smell the sweetness of the flavors, one friend got a headache from the scent (she was also under the weather) and one got a small sore throat. So, that's most of the negative feed back I've gotten. Everyone else enjoys. GO VAPE.

Funny, that is what my wife and daughter say some of the flavors taste like. It must be the VG.
