Why does my atomizer occasionally burn long?

What does it say about my build if the atomizer tends to burn for around .5-1 second after releasing the battery? I'm using a protank but I rebuild the coils so I figured this would be an appropriate spot to put this. Also happened on my nimbus, but I've only tried using it a handful of times.

Are you using large wire, like 26ga and wrapping micro coils?
I've done some micro/macro coils using 24 and 26ga kanthal and they do retain the heat and sizzle a bit as they cool down.

I've noticed this messing with my Igo-W. When the coil is clean and wickless it'll glow and then die pretty quick after firing. With gunk on the coils, they'll stay glowing for a good few seconds.

Your build is probably good

when I notice a sizzle after button release its because my wick is going dry, not enough juice to cool the coil as fast

It probably means that the coil is still hot enough to vaporize the juice. Just because the electrical current had stopped doesn't mean the coil isn't still hot.

I get the same thing on my rebuilt protank as well as my drippers. It scared me on the protank until it happened on my dripper and I realized it wasn't still firing per say, just cooling down.

If you're using a non-Joyetech ego, some do that, every vape. It's not a defect. You'll sorta get used to it.

What material are you wicking with? I get that result on my kanger coil builds when I use silica because its not wicking as fast as cotton and it makes a more audible sizzle.

Also your airflow cools the coil so try releasing the fire button a sec before you finish your draw.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm building micros with 28g kanthal. I'm going to start using a little bit less cotton in the builds and see how that works out for me.

As long as the cotton isn't dry or being burned it won't create any problems. The way micros stay warm is nice if you chain vape like me. Lol good luck
