Why have I seen so many "Kick"s in the classified section?

I believe some had issues with their kick, got a warranty replacement, and put it up for sale.

I believe some purchased multiple kicks, with the intention of reselling for a profit.

I believe some purchased, but were not happy with the battery life of using a smaller battery with the kick.

I personally waited because I did not have a kickable mod. After acquiring a kickable mod, I purchased one from the classifieds, and I am very happy with it. I love not needing to know the resistance of the carto I use on said mod, it just works to my liking. I am ok with an 18350's battery life with a kick. Two batteries can get me through the whole day with no issues. I have not experienced any problems with my kick, it just works.

Keen observations, ajohnson!

I'll make my own mod if they make the kick available. It just seems easier and more flexible than building a booster. I guess I need to look into that.

I do believe Evlov is going to release a modder's board with the same technology as the kick.

Can you please explain why do you believe that? Did someone from Evolv said something?

I have heard that several times around the forums. Just a rumor though.

Sorry for the thread hijack, back on topic.

I think some people get frustrated that they have to disassemble their mod to change the wattage setting. I like the fact that once i find the right spot, I just set it and forget it.

I just bought a 2nd kick in anticipation of a mod that I have on pre-order. Although I think within a month or so, the kick will not be so elusive. Most resellers should have a more regular stock on hand.

I saw the same posts from someone that seemed to have some connection to evolve. This was well before the kick came out. I think there were even pics of a prototype. I have little doubt that a modder somewhere will pull a kick apart and build a mod around it.

I have to wonder if people that are trying to use it with DCs are disappointed it won't auto-adjust properly when they go back to single coil for dripping etc.

They did in their announcement thread.

The new Evolv/Dimension joint venture will be structured as follows: retail products such as the Kick will be marketed and supported under the Evolv brand, OEM components and modules will be sold by Dimension Engineering with Evolv co-branding. The Kick is the first product developed under this agreement.
