That's just how that forum works. You're not really asking all the veterans, just the one or two that want to reply and then the thread gets closed. If you want multiple opinions and to engage in a discussion, you need to post in the general forums. Personally, I think it's a little misleading and a lot of new members don't understand how it works, but it doesn't look like it will be changing any time soon. It's set up so that only members that have been a part of the forum for over a year can answer.

I posted a question on 4/6/2011 and received one reply from a veteran on 4/7/11. But the thread was closed after that, and I couldn't reply.

Why/how do some threads get closed quickly while others seem to stay open for such a long time.
Thanks for any input

did you get a pm saying it was closed ? Was it posted in a incorrect place? Could you ask a mod where you posted it? As far as i know a thread will stay alive for a long time. i have had one closed by a mod for posting in a incorrect place that came with a pm to let me know.

Oh and I am pretty sure the veteran was wrong. I have those cartos and I believe no inner ring and yes slot - lemme check

Litecig Premium KR808D-1 - slotted pole, notched edge, no inner seal, aluminum color metal end
Analog Alternative Boge KR808D-1 - looks identical
Vapor4Life - Every prefill or blank I have gotten has slotted pole and no seal

The only cartos I have had with an inner seals are 510 cartos made by SLB w/ brass colored metal end (and I really disliked them - annoying inner seal and hard to drag after topping off a few times vs Boge 510s which I can get 2 weeks+ out of)

And I believe one of the ripoff rebranders who sell KR808D-2 (like Greensmoke etc) or possible V2 which is a KR808D-1 - I think one of those rebranders sells ones with inner seal because one of them was trying to act like it was a reason their cartos were better than other ones

And VapeSafe.com prefilled cartos for KR8 - someone told me they have inner seal. I do not know if it was slotted across the pole but I sent them mail.

Thanks to all for answering. Didn't realize that the Ask The Veterans forum was a nondiscussion forum. Thought it was a forum for vets to chime in on their responses. Now understand that one Vet can reply and close the thread while the general forums can stay open a long while.

Dormouse - Thanks for the help as always. Also FYI, I have inquired from multiple vendors about their cartos. The reply I received by email on the V2's you mentioned was that their Kr808D-1 cartomizers had no notch, no inner seal and were 2.5 Ohms. I'm trying the LitCig Premium KR808D-1 cartos now - yes Boge and no inner seal, which they told me up front.

I guess the inner seal is a personal preference - but I like it and prefer it to the cartos which don't include it. However, I'm finding that blank KR808D-1 cartos no longer include it - at least I can't find any blank KR808D-1s which still have it. I understand Kanger used to include the seal, but changed to one without it, except for some prefilled cartos, which I rarely buy now.

Thanks to all again for your input. It's a learning process for sure.
