The stuff I have seen says that more surface area gives better vape. With a microcoil isn't the side of the wire "hidden" by the wrap next to it. If I spread the coils out the entire wire is exposed.

I should probably do a test to see if I can tell the difference. I think the microcoils look better.

How do these guys on youtube wrap such tight coils? When I do it they are open until I burn and squeeze.

Liquids, such as juice are cohesive, and will draw to the entire surface area of the coil. Micro gives you more surface area than spaced wraps. The inductive and thermodynamic nature of a coil is also stronger with a micro, and will cause the center coils to generate an immense amount of heat, which creates a single point for the juice to flow to, which improves overall wicking. A spaced coil which heats at the edges can dry the wick from the sides, not allowing juice to reach the center, and causing the wick and coil to burn up/wear out more quickly

They are easy for novices to build. You can make an accurate resistance time and again with a micro (or any coil that is wrapped that way).

I dunno about thermodynamic this and that - that would mean your cotton wick will be toasted fast, compared to other wicking materials, and until i see definite proof, i'm equally happy to think that 3 rough wraps of 24g is just as good!

Great answer. Normally I just say i dunno. It just works better. :)
