Why Presidents Don't Shape The FDA

First thing that came to mind was the old sayings. When your only tool is a hammer all your problems look like nails and, Be careful what you wish for you just mite get it.

The one thing the story left out was CHANTIX and other black box warning drugs.

The title of this article is wrong, as Obama appointees at FDA tried to ban e-cigarettes by lying about them, and falsely claimed that "tobacco use" is the leading cause of death (it's cigarette smoking), and that all tobacco products are as hazardous as cigarettes (when implementing the FSPTCA, which was enacted only because Obama was in the White House and Dems controlled the House and Senate.

Of course the author of that article never bothered to mention FDA tobacco or e-cigarette policies, which were the two biggest public health policy changes made by Obama's FDA.

Politics shape everything in government. Anyone that doesn't believe that to be true is a fool.

Yep the worse thing about politics is the politicians.

This article could have been written much better. Politicians on the left and right don't care about the FDA. They care about campaign contributions. Lobbyists control what happens due to thier funding and influence.

A strong constitutionally minded candidate will never get elected president so the only options are to either fight against lobbyists themselves and in turn becoming lobbyists, lay down like sheep and take what they give you, or violent revolution. Its sad in a society where lies and corruption are held in higher regards than truth and liberty.
