I asked a question in PIF and it brings another question to mind.
It is generally acknowledged that everyones taste is different. If you give 2 people a piece of apple they will both say it taste like apple:closedeyes:; but if you give the same 2 people some apple pie e-juice, one is likely to say "it taste just like I took a bite of Mom's apple pie:w00t:" while the other is likely to say ":censored:are you trying to make me vomit, what did you put in that juice:blink:?!".
So, why are taste's so different when it comes to e-juice.
Just my rant for the day.:)

lol...I have often wondered the same things. I have ordered some juice from some of the best suppliers on ECF. Everyone else raves--I so far have found two (i honestly have tried probably 100+) juices that I consider all day vapes...or a go to vape. I can pick a few of them up and vape them sure...but I really dont enjoy them as much as everyone else...

I wish it was as easy as eating a apple pie....

I'm in the same boat...while I've not tried all that many yet (about 21) I've found 4 that I like and 1 of the 4 is no longer available. My husband is going to take away my credit card if I keep ordering juice and not liking them.

Honestly, I think it's as simple as why one person likes one food and another person doesn't.

I've always been a picky eater... If I get a cheeseburger, it's meat, cheese and bread. Most everyone else will slather condiments on them, but those condiments would make me gag. (I guess I taste things really intensely)

Vaping now and trying lots of juices, I'm finding the same issue as with foods: Many of the flavors just don't appeal to me.

Taste is subjective. Need I say more?

What's your favorite ice cream?

Mine is chocolate.

Well, what brand?

Turkey Hill

Just plain Turkey Hill chocolate ice cream is your favorite?

Well no, b/c Friendlys makes this awesome triple chocolate swirl.

So Friendlys is your favorite brand of ice cream?

No b/c they make a horrible vanilla.

So you hate vanilla?

No bc I enjoy Edys vanilla.

This could go on and on... Certain flavors appeal to certain people. And while one brand of a certain flavor is the best to them. Other brands of certain flavors are the worst to them.

Best example I can give.

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
Noooooo . . . a plain burger is too dry. It has to have mustard and pickle at the very least. And cheeseeeeeeeeee. :)

Mustard...on a burger? K, I'm a veggie, but I used to be a carnivoir and mustard belongs on hot dogs at the zoo, not a burger. Gotta be mayo, lettus, tomatos, onion and bacon...cheese is optional.

I agree that taste is subjective-
I agree that 99% of us are experiencing changing taste as our taste buds recover-
I agree that different people like different taste-
I agree that many people have favorite brands for flavors-

Most e-juices composition has nothing to do with the actual composition of the flavors they are supposed to represent. They are chemicals that are mixed to trigger the proper receptors in our taste buds to make us think we are tasting a particular flavor.

What I don't understand is the extreme variance in correlation for one flavor between 2 or more people. If I hand someone an e-juice that is supposed to taste like apple pie I would expect various responses; ie. "I can taste the apple but no cinnamon or pie crust", "I can taste cinnamon but no apple", "I can taste some of the flavors but I don't really like it". Not "Man that is nasty, are you sure that's apple pie". That's what confuses me, not that people have different taste, but that those differences can be so extreme with e-juices.

Now for everyone out there thinking," Dude, you are waaaaay over thinking this". My main concern in this is, over the last 3 months I have tried 30 some odd flavors and I have only found 2 that I can stick with. There have been others that I liked the flavor but they tended to change if i vaped them for more than 5 minutes or became dull after a couple of days and I loose interest. ( even with swapping out 3 or 4 flavors in 1 day ) I am worried that I can find a few flavors that I will be able to vape consistently with out them changing on me months down the road.:glare:
