why there is no german national & international forum @ECF ?

i pm'd a moderator months ago and asked why there is no national/international forum for german members?
But never got an answer.

There are enough vape related topics coming from germany (like the orion mod and much more),
the language is spoken by 180million people. The bigger vaping comunities in germany got around 25.000 members maybe together 30k-40k. I heard that over a million people in germany are vaping.

so why there is no german national & international forum at the ECF? If that needs to be moderated, just tell it and i will find people for that job , I mean we are just vapers so wheres the problem?

The situation is very simple: we wait until someone comes to us and says they want such a forum, and that they will moderate it. Also we need to be happy that the person means what they say (it's not an easy job as you will be subject to abuse), and also that we trust them, at least as far as is possible at the beginning of what should be a long and important relationship.

So if you really want to take this on, and we think you mean what you say, then there should be no problem. But we tend to be wary if someone says, "I won't do it but maybe someone else will".

The best candidate is a national of the country the new forum is for; someone who does not run a forum already (otherwise they might just spend their time linking to their main forum); and who is a dedicated member of the vaping community but currently has no strong affiliations with vendors or other forums; and who will regularly post in and moderate the new forum; and who believes in community advocacy for vaping. They come to us and say, "I want a forum for my country and I will moderate it".

It's not easy to find such people, which is why the number of national forums is limited.

i would moderate a german forum, thats no problem
but would try to find helping hands. Moderation is no one man show.

I believe I meet the criteria that rolygate stated, Although I am not German, I spent most of my adult life there and am fluent. I was wondering why there wasn't a German forum; now I know. You can be sure I'll typo "auf Deutsch" now and then; but I like to help and I like to see people improve their health with vaping.

LOL! Wanna bet? Seriously; I speak German so well that most don't know I'm not German. Luckily German is written very much as it is spoken (excluding dialekts). I never went to school to learn the language; I lived there for 18 years.
