Hi there.

I have built a single spaced ni200 coil; 26awg, coming in at 0.08ohms.
This is built on a Mako rda running on a sigelei 75w.
The coil was locked in at room temp and all connections are solid.
I dry burned the wick at 420F and 50w. Very, very slight singe of the wick with a full 10 sec press. Brilliant!
Been vaping it at those settings for about a day and usually only re-dripping when the wick is pretty dry (novelty). Now, here is the thing. The performance has been top notch! No burnt hits at all. However, the wick is starting to look a little black in the centre. I pulled it out for inspection and it is only a surface burn, but burnt and black none the less. Logic would tell me that repeated slight browning would eventually turn black. But the wick was never completely dry and always has air flowing over it, so it shouldn't really singe at all. Has anybody else had this? Is it normal? I have checked often to make sure the screws are tight and the coil is secure. Any help would be brilliant.

Edit: have also tried the above with 400F with the same results.
