Cotton cooking twine is very easy to thread into a coil using a bead needle. It works, and wicks great in my PT2's. Don't know how well it would work in anything else.
Wicking doesn't need to be an art, it just needs to work. At least that's how I see it. I've always seen wicking as the easiest part of rebuilding, which is why I tend to use coils longer than I probably should
