I am an 11 month old vaper and I am wanting to transition into rebuildables. I've done other adequate research on the topic of rebuildables, and i am now lead to the wicks. Of the different materials out there for wicks, what are the best, in terms of flavor, vapor production, throat hit, longevity of that material? What are the differences, if any? Benefits, tradeoffs? Is it a subjective kind of deal? Personal preference? I would love to hear about personal preferences and experiences as well.

The type of wick would depend on which you have. RBA's can be a lot of things Top feeds Like a RSST can be Ceramic, SS mesh or rope, or Ekowool. I don't use top feed RBA's anymore. An RBA like a kayfun can be cotton, Silica, ekowool or the hybrid ekowool/cotton TWICK. I use all three with cotton being the best but the shortest lasting. Twick last longer but costs more. Plain ekowool works good if you have a good brand. Plain Silica wick i do not like in the bottom feed RBA's.

For RDA's i've used Cotton, and Ekowool and twick with good results. I don't use RDA's much except to try juice for the first time. Gotten hooked on Kayfuns and even Fogger 2s. FYI the fogger comes with SS mesh but i've never gotten good results from that. I use TWICK for my best results.

I only have 2 recommendations for fabric wicks and they are ecowool and German Silica. Since trying German Silica that's all I use now. It cost a bit more than regular silica, which is garbage IMO. It's important that it's German made. I get it at RTDVapors. I use it in bottom coil tanks. The flavor and vapor is better than any other wicking material that I've tried. It lasts longer than regular silica and way longer than cotton.
