The easy answer is yes you can get a whole lot better than the K101 - and yes you can buy something that will really impress you both aesthetically and functionally. The question then becomes - which mod to buy.

I may be unpopular for saying this, but I'm not crazy about the Nemesis switch. At that price point, I want something that doesn't wobble and sag under the weight of the atty when standing upright. It's nice looking, but so are a lot of other high end mods.

The origin is a sexy high end mod that hits hard and has a good solid design. However, the locking ring annoys me - it's hard to turn because it's so slim. I end up just leaving it unlocked at all times, which defeats the purpose of having one. Still, you can take the battery out when you are transporting it - probably safer to do that anyway. If I have to choose between the two, Origin wins over Nemmy.

The Gus Lord is really nice looking and performs well from what I hear (don't have one yet: there's a new model out in the $130 (?) price range which is a steal for what it is - a highly engineered, beautiful mech mod. Across all three mentioned here, the Gus would be your best investment for the price.

Caravela remains for me the best looking and top performing (the supermodel of the vaping world), but getting one is another story.

Here's a link to the Gus. Let us know what you decide :) GUS Lord Telescopic mod bb/whs lite version (no AFC) [A00-9A120] - €100.00 : Gus-mod&more...!, An idea made material

Forgot to mention bottom feeding mech mods as another alternative in the higher end price range (higher than a K101 anyway), that will open up a whole new level of vaping for you (so yes, worth the money). Reo's Mods, Dibis, and Bogger Box are examples. A basic Reo is under $200; although not aesthetically beautiful, it will last a lifetime and change the way you vape forever.

I agree with all this. :)

edit: oops. I guess I don't agree with ALL of it because I think my Reo is quite lovely :)

A quartz timex watch is about $20. A rolex submariner is about $6,000. In all actuality (and even die hard Rolex and high end mechanical watch experts will admit) a cheap quartz watch keeps more accurate time than an expensive mechanical watch. Even at $6000 it's hard to find a submariner in stock at a jeweler's shop. For guitars you can buy a squier stratocaster or epiphone Les Paul for $250 and under, which is made of pretty much the same wood as Fender Stratocaster or Gibson Les Paul. For a custom shop made Fender or Gibson you can easily go into $5k for one of those, and even at those prices there are still people getting in line to purchase.

IF the question is "whether it is worth it" to buy an actual nemesis? Is it worth the money to buy a real Rolex, or a real Gibson or real Fender (or a real Armani suit over a Men's Wearhouse, or real French champagne over $3 paper box wine)? The answer is your k100 works just fine, and gets the job done pretty close to a nemesis. Is there a difference between a k100 and a nemmy? The nemmy is really quaility made and you can see the quality when you touch it (finer engraving, finer threading, smooth button). Is it worth the extra money? Depends on how bad you want it (or a rolex, or a stratocaster, or an Armani suit, or French champagne). As for me, I bought the real nemmy.

There is another point to be had, and that is pride of ownership. If u just want to blow big clouds and dont mind a little rattle or coarse threads and the name isnt important thanb you may be better served with a clone. I personally wanted the craftsmanship, quality, pride, and in all honesty the presitge of owning a rare desirable mod. But I bought mine for me to enjoy, not to resell or leave on a desk to look pretty. I will use mine and love it for what it does.

This is of coarse up to the consumer and what matters to you. I have the means to afford a few higher ticket items and i believe in supporting the person who put their time, thought and care into CREATING these devices. I dont support conterifting and the way the clones are presented as real 1:1 clones is sad and dissapointing. That being said I do own a clone and for all intents and purpose it functions well, looks good and workks.

sorry for the rant
