It all depends on the amp limiting of the alien, the figure of which I do not know off hand.
Voltage wise it's capable.. but of course, what ohms are you trying to run at 220 w? That also is pretty much one of the most important variables. In ideal situations with the right resistance to suit it's chip, with fully charged HQ batteries like vtc5a's, it might indeed be capable of hitting it. Do people really vape at 220 watts? At 120 watts on my cleito 120, i choke and cough, and I use to pride myself on aqua lungs.. I just don't get the 200+ desire lol! Maybe I am just a weakling after all.

what's resistance got to do with it?

what doesn't it?
The resistance times wattage has to fall into the mods amp and voltage specs to be able to get maximum power.

For example, IF the alien has say a 25 amp cutoff, you will never get anywhere near 220 watts on a low resistance coil, and then the higher the resistance, the voltage ceiling is easier to reach (think 1.8 herakles coils for example).

I do not KNOW the specs of the alien, so I am only using examples here, nothing more. I will look into the max amps and volts tonight..

( i realise amps are calculated differently on reg mods but voltage isn't AFAIK, for example, a dna85 can't use a 1.8 coil even at 30 watts, cause it has a ceiling of 6 volts)

resistance of coil doesn't factor in on regulated mods, resistance does not matter at all.

dc-dc inverter.... When lower than the 6.4-8.4 available volts it bucks it down when higher it kicks it up by drawing more amps....

Not true, every mod has it's limits, and watts is only one of them.
While resistance doesn't factor into the wattage, it does factor into the mods limitations.

ok well obviously the rated specs usually 0.1-3.0 in watt mode...but aside from that ohms of coil don't impact the mods ability to put out watts

That would depend on the specific mod. There were many that could only achieve both their upper and lower wattage limits with a very specific resistance range. Many Evolv chip sets simply defaulted to 'available battery voltage' when the resistance didn't allow for the desired wattage.

well in my experience with newer smok mods it doesn't seem to matter as long as in rated specs

nope, pete busardo has proved this is not the case even with high end mods.. sorry you are wrong.

well according to the guy in the video with half decent batteries it will do 220 watts but not for long . like 4 or 5 hits. If I understand him correctly . I've tried mine at 220 watts with batteries fresh off the charger and it was fine a bit of a warm vape but not bad . Any way stumbled on this video and thought I would put it up for Alien users or someone thinking of getting one to take a look at.
    vape on.
