Is anyone using old wine bottles for storing e-liquid or base?

I'm thinking about using the wine bottles, with reusable stoppers instead of their original corks, that I already have on hand to mix and store different strength nicotine bases for my various juices. I'm getting tired of the hassle of mixing 100mg nic into small 20-30ml batches to try out/test new flavors and recipes and if I don't have to order new bottles, all the better.

Can anyone think of a reason why not to do this?

How many MG of nic do you vape per day?
I would suggest a larger plastic bottle for your "working" nicotine solution.
Since you are on 1mg/ml; 200ml-500ml of 10mg/ml should last for a while.
I don't like glass, it's heavy, it's breaks and you can't squeeze it.

Final thought: I don't think putting e liquid in food or medicine containers is prudent. "gotta keep 'em separated"

I cut all my nic into 500ml wire top beer bottles and 10-50ml amber bottles. I just grab a 50 and make 100mls 48 base and thats what I use, it lasts my wife and I several months. There is synthetic corks you can get but lots of better bottles out there than wine bottles. Dollar stores usually have a load of different bottles. I use lots of wire top dollar store jars and bottles to mix and store juice in. I use the quart jugs to pour my vg/pg and refill from the gallon, been a baker for many years and I can pour out of a gallon jug into a thimble and not spill a drop.

Yeah, but if he already has all those empties on hand, why purchase more?

I was more leaning toward the OP using wine bottles. Unless they have the smaller airplane wine bottles. I assumed he was talking bout are 750ml(26oz) and that is rather large and clunky to hold personal nic in. I can see having 30ml of personal nic becoming a hassle after a while, refilling 30ml jugs of juice is a hassle for me so one day I will buy a load of 50's. I bought 30ml mostly when I was vaping vendor juices so thats what I have around, all my glass bottles went to rebottling concentrates and put into the freezer.

I generally vape around 15ml of 1mg per day, sometimes a bit more. I figure 750ml of 1.1mg of base for my ADV (10% flavor) would get me through about a month and a half or so, if I fill it up to the top. I'd probably only fill it to 650-700ml. Maybe a month if I'm also using it for mixing up new flavors that I don't end up liking.

I like the idea of just adding flavors without messing too much with mixing nic/vg/pg. I don't mind the weight of the bottles; obviously I'm used to pouring the wine from it.

And I absolutely hate throwing things away if they can be re-purposed into something useful. We generate so much waste as it is that I hate adding to it unnecessarily.

"Hey hey don't pay no mind" I'll be removing the wine labels and adding my own (although not fancy) that clearly mark the contents. I also store my DIY stuff completely separate from food and drink items.

I may try it and if it doesn't work, I'll can the idea.

Thanks all!

Vaping is great for re-purposing stuff!

I made a larger than normal batch of our 8mg all day vape, so instead of my normal 375ml Absolut bottle, I also had to fill a Detroit Distillery 375ml vodka bottle. About a two month supply.:D

If you have them on hand I don't see any issues at all. The upside is your saving money. Glass bottles are expensive. If there brown or green colored all the better, but clear will work too if your storing your NIC in the freezer. What your storing out side the freezer should be in colored glass and stored in a cool dark place..
