Hi im new to coil building. I want to build a coil that is 1.0ohms but i can go lower due to my good battery 2600mah 38amps

But as of now i only have .25 kanthal wire
and i dont know the chart of what .25 means in gauge.

So how can i build a 1.0ohm coil using tripole and .25 kanthal wire using organic cotton thanks :) like how many wraps of .25

Don't........... You dont even know what you have, so don;t do it.

You need to go to the RDA/RTA sections, Read up on Baditudes Battery Safety. BUY A RESISTANCE METER. Please don;t just try to wrap wire and put it on a machine.

Im not being mean or lashing out, but that is so unsafe.

This...

Also, this site has tools that will help give you approximate wraps to get the ohms you're looking for. There is also an ohm calculator onboard with some other useful tools.

None of that should be substituted for a GOOD ohm meter, not one of the $8 pieces of crap your vape shop will sell you. If your ohm meter doesn't read to at least .001, you're using the wrong meter.

Go to your vape shop, and ask questions, have them build you a coil and watch what they are doing. Read online, watch videos, educate yourself. You have a pipe bomb in your hand, and hold it inches from your face. Some precautions should be taken.

Do what you will with this information in this post. I was only an Electronics Technician in the US Navy, I might not know what I'm talking about.

If that is .25MM Kanthal then its 30awg. 1ohm on a tri-pole atty, assume you want to build as dual coil. Most common is to use a 5/64 or 2mm mandrel and wrap 2 coils at 8/9 wraps each. FWIW a single coil would be 4 wraps.

Spend $5 on a atty volt ohm tester. Use this calculator to help with your building and mod usage. Steam Engine | free vaping calculators BUT the ohm meter is the most important tool for coil building. In fact is the ONLY tool really required for building coils.

Some batteries say 38 amp, but thats BS......

I just dont believe it,

I stay with the 20amp limit myself.....No matter what the battery says,
Good idea as long as the battery is 20amp or better continuous rated. Good authentic batteries are not expensive and are the best investment one can make in vaping.

thanks guys. dont worry ive been watching tutorials about building coils for atleast 3weeks now.
about the ohm reader. the shipment is on the way so i guess i have to w8 :)

my battery is IMREN 18650 38amp 2,600mah - it is the a good quality i think in my country. (Philippines)

yes i only have .25mm now i know it is = 30awg (this one i need to know so thanks)

i know i should buy .50 something :)
im gonna try dual coil and be watching youtube videos first dont worry :)

I suspect that 38 amp is the pulse rating and not continuous. Only asking cause we want u to be safe.....

From reading that thread and doing a little research, It looks as if the assertions MAY (and I emphasize "MAY") be true. Until there is more testing done on these batteries, though, I'd advise treating them as though they are rated at something like 20 amp continuous. That way, at least you probably have a good margin of safety and can later increase the load you put on them if the claims prove to be true.

Just my :2c:
