Hi all

I wanted to post in the modders section, that I have taken a flash unit from a disposable camera, and found a way to regulate using a resistor in the primary section of the step up transformer.

I'm posting here, hoping that anyone searching will find it.

If you desolder the transformer, and pull up a leg on the primary, a resistor can be inserted that will limit the voltage that is passed to the secondary. I hear that 75 volts in the magic number. I'm still trying to find the magic number on the ohms.

Yes, that's where I got the 75 volt from.

I think I can get this to work... Right now, it's vaporizing wires. Lol

Lol, Or an arc welder, Bro seriously be cautious. I have been popped by one of these in the past (friend made a gag buzzer) and it can leave a nice little blister If you get popped good. Enjoy.

i know nothing about electronics or welding but.......back when we used floppy diskettes i worked for 3M. we used ultrasonic welders to fasten the flaps of the pvc after inserting the media in the sleeve. the only cheap ultrasonic device i know of is a ultrasonic jewlery cleaner. any chance a person who knows of such things could fashion a wire joiner from that. all i ask for the idea is 10% of the royalities when the money comes in. lol

Ive got it working...

It can join the reliance wire and non resistant wire...
