I knew they existed but thought they were just a vapor without nicotine. I knew that would never replace smoking. I've read a lot including best ways to start etc. I think minis are not worth the time and trouble. I originally liked mid size like the ego, (still might buy one) but its kind of long. Then in other posts VMOD - ProVari & Vario its clone?

The VMOD-XL or similar I like because its a smaller, last longer & will fit in my jeans. The ProVari is a bit expensive but the Vario might be ok. One thing for sure I am committed to quit smoking. I've done it before with the patch, gum etc but in the long run I failed but I will never quit trying. I should mention when out, carrying around extra parts would be a turn off. I want to keep it simple, so units like the above sounds like my best way to start. It might cost more but I've spent far more on other substitutes.

At this point I smoke less than a pack, sometimes far less of lights. My intention was & is to gradually break off of inhaling anything. If it cost more to do that then it does but like most I want to hold down expenses. If you would, I'd like to hear from those that use what I suggested or similar. What spares & backups & problem areas as well. Just things to be aware of & any mods to consider. Hope I've provided enough info, if not just ask. From reading the last couple of days plus your help I'll be making an informed decision. I'm ready to start so thanks for you help in advance.

You may want to look at an Ego Twist, they are inexpensive and the size is the smallest of the devices you mentioned. After that, if money is not an option a Provari is great, long battery life but does not have the look of a cig. Devices like the Vmax, Vector Varible Volt and Vario from VaporBeast.com are all good inexpensive alternatives to a Provari. The Vario is not yet available, but it looks very cool indeed! The only issue with that device is it's bigger than a Provari.

Don't worry about inhaling Ecigs, it fun and from the research I've done a great alternative to smoking. Again VaporBeast also sell the Ego Twist and for $20 bucks I think it's a really good place to start. Lots of great vendors so find one that offers good customer service and stands behind their products. Have fun! :)

It does not need to look like a cig. Inhaling is no problem & I agree its a great alternative. The twist might be ok as a backup but I'd need to buy a fair amount of backup parts. Be ok at home but when out carrying it around is a problem. Thanks for the link to VaporBeast, the Vmax is an option. I'll check out the others. I wish some had better reviews & the exact size listed. I mean things like its about the same size as a med cigar says little since I have no clue what size med is. lol

Hi Rodnaz..

I'm new to vaping too, 20 days now.

I'm using a KR808 fat battery that is also a pass through device (hooks the battery to the computer via a mini to standard USB cable). The advantage to this is that while the battery is charging (900 mah - the charge time lasts me about 10 hours), you can still vape near your computer (a 5 ft cable) and not use any battery power. I'm also using a clearomizer (1.6 ml capacity) and megacartos (5 ml capacity). I actually have 2 of the fat bats. Both vapor and flavor are very good.

The bats and clearomizers came from O2Vapor and the megacartos came from V4L. I spent around $40-45 for all of it. This setup is MUCH less expensive than the Vmod XL from Vapage (on sale right now for I think around $100 for the kit).

I do have to admit though, a bottom feeder for a hundo seems to be a pretty good deal (only one battery in the kit I think, however).

As far as VV batteries go though, I can say that I'm not too interested right now. The inexpensive setup that I've put together is meeting my needs very nicely. I get plenty of vapor and taste using 24mg nic strength juices. If you really want to get into the technical side of vaping, experimenting with different voltages and delivery devices, then VV bats might be right up your alley.

I'm vaping right now on my pass through even as I type and not using any battery power!!

That's my two cents for whatever it's worth.

Hi Rodnaz. So along the lines of the vmod style unit. There are two feeder style mods(like the vmod) that come to mind and should be on your radar.

reosmods.com These carry their own bottle that directly feeds the atomizer. There are large models and small models standard fixed voltage and even variable voltage. Everyone who I have had the pleasure of speaking to who own one of these units will vouch for thier sturdy construction and their awesome performance.

VVPV ( includes batts + charger ) - notcigs.com This unit is also very highly adored as well. It is variable voltage, top feeding, holds 5ml of liquid and runs on a pair of small 14500 sized(AA sized) batteries. Can be ordered wit just about any thread type and is aluminum so it light and slim.

Either of these would pretty much last a standard vaper the day(or more) without having to lug aroun a backpack full o supplies as backups. Fill the bottle, plop in a charged batterie(s) and you are set for the day(for most of us). Both of these are great feeder mods and they have a devout following all to themselves, so they are definately worth a look if nothing else. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I think my best way to start is with the ego twist & will upgrade later. There is just to much to sort out at this point. It appears Vaporbeast is a good way to go but they only have 30 ml bottles of juice. I'd like suggestions on where to get smaller samples. Also any first hand info on cartos etc to use with the ego twist. I plan on using it to get my nic fix as needed. So I doubt I'll want cartos or what ever you recommend larger than 5 ml. Thanks for your input.

Got 2 ego twists on the way, a 650 & 900. I decided since my main goal is to get off cigs I had to have a backup. Of course I got an assortment of cartos & mandatory pieces just in case. I spent a bit more but if it gets me off cigs then it doesn't matter!

I've never seen anyone in my crowd using one so I'm sure I get the what the heck is that. lol

It's good to hear that your vaping device does not need to look like a cigarette. That really opens the door to better performing units. I understand wanting to keep things small and simple while out and about. The mid-size ego-style (like the Twist) are about the size, only a little longer, of a magic marker. A couple of those can easily fit in a shirt pocket. Lanyards are also available at most vendor websites to carry your mod around your neck.

I carry two large battery mods in the above case, including extra batteries and smaller tanks or mega-cartomizers, all in one carrying case, which goes with me where ever I go. Keeps everything pretty organized in one spot. I guess if functions like a "man purse".....lol.

I used to carry egos out and about. Now I carry my Reo Grande. Might be a tad large for your jeans pocket but he makes a mini version. Best of all it's got an internal juice bottle and rechargable battery that lasts a long time. I use a dripping atty on mine, some use cartos. This way I need to carry NOTHING but the mod itself. I just make sure it has a fresh battery out of my battery boxes before I leave for the day.
