5 or 50, wouldnt that be a big no no? I mean you arent supposed to store batteries where they can come in contact with money, zippers, etc? It has to do with the batteries either touching each other on the positive or negative areas.

It would have to be something lined with non-metal or conductive material that keeps them from touching each other. At least that comes to mind.

Something like this?

That does seem cool, but again, it seems odd that everyone is always warning against batteries coming into contact with metal.

It won't hurt anything for the batteries to be in a metal container if there's no circuit completed. That'd be simple enough to prevent with o-rings on both ends to prevent the batteries' negative ends from touching metal.

It's kind of a neat idea. I just bought a stainless steel syringe a few days ago (the Innokin U-can) which also sounds weird, but is actually the bee's knees for dripping. I can't fault the idea for a ss battery case.

Besides, I don't recall ever seeing a case, plastic or otherwise, for 18490/500 batteries. They're all either 18350, 18650, or alkaline sizes.

Not saying I'd buy one, though. Just that I wouldn't judge someone who did.

Also, I'd hope such a gadget wouldn't distract from super-t's other announced projects -- the rda, the tank, or the dna20 kiklet.

I was thinking the tube could be the same as the 18350/14500 simplicity or whichever battery it was housing, so their existing setup could be used (just cut the tube to a different length). The top cap could also be the same, minus the air-channels. I also wouldn't want it to take away from their other projects, and I have no skill in manufacturing. But if it was easy to set-up, I'd buy one. And I honestly think I wouldn't be alone. Not saying it will sell like the iPhone.

Those would be kind of cool, purpose built and all. Unfortunately, not enough machine capacity at this time to do them, we have a backlog as is of essential parts needing machining, but you never know what the future may bring.

Glad to see it reached your ears :)
