Wizard Labs Menthol Crystals

I want to make some menthol for my daughter who LOVES vape Dudes Ice Ice,,,,,

I know to crush the menthol crystals and put them in a 30ml bottle,,,,,,,,,and then fill with PG to disolve the crystals,,,,,

but how many crystals should I use for this?

And what % should I start with for adding to the nic base, PG and VG???

WI have same prob. After I powerize the crystals how much do I use in my nicotine base liquid....or do I dissolve them before adding nicotine? Hope not because I already have the mixed stuff. Just wanted to make menthol and that's it...maybe try some peppermint or something to individualize a little. Hope a DIY er reads this

If you have a spare vial, I'd make a vial of menthol that has been dissolved into PG.

I use about 1/2-2/3 a teaspoon crystals to a 4ml vial. In pure PG it may take time, but it will dissolve. Putting the vial someplace warm helps(such as the side of your laptop) it dissolve faster.

Out of that mixture, I typically would use about 3-4% menthol for a 30 ml bottle. Sooo about 22 drops/1 ml(4%) of the made menthol. If you go this route, have her or even you, try some at 3%, then 4% and so on. Menthol is tricky. Just a little too much can blow you over.

I make "menthol drops" basically first time crushed the crystals and filled the bottle 3/4 full, added PG to fill the bottle and the menthol dissolved, as i used it I refilled the bottle with whole non crushed menthol crystals, it eventually reached a saturation point where no more would dissolve and it formed a gel, at this point i had to add PG also, this stuff is strong,

I like menthol for the feel but alone the taste is like halls drops, originally I was doing 8% wintergreen about 2% menthol drops. this is a really clean pleasant minty with slight menthol tingle all day vape, keeps my breath fresh also, GF likes that,

I ran out of wintergreen so for the past few weeks menthol has been the only flavor in my vape, i am running 2.5 ML of near saturation menthol drops in 30ML, 50/50 PG/VG, at 10MG strength, this is a very strong halls flavor but I like the tingle. this vapes very clean in hardware also, atomizers last a very long time, breath is still fresh,

I am going to order more wintergreen tonight. and a sweetener,

I've been using my own Menthol drops since I started DIY. I crush the crystals by rolling a rolling pin over the plastic bag. I fill a plastic bottle about half full using an improvised funnel. I then fill the bottle with PG. You could use VG, water, vodka or Pure Grain Alcohol.
I shake the bottle, give it a hot bath and the powder is usually in suspension. If not, heat and a few shakes dissolves the rest. For me, 2 or 3 drops per ml makes a very strong menthol taste. Of course, the amount added varies and you have to find your own level. I wouldn't add it to my nic base or my PG/VG base because it makes my DIY less flexable.
It makes mentholizing any juice very simple and by knowing the number of drops per ml, you can account for the volume by percentage in your e-juice calculator. It'd quick and easy and the resulting solution lasts me a very long time.

What other flavors go good with menthol besides tabbacco. I think the raspberry seemed too perfumery and I just love Doublemint gum. Nothing better but they don't have it on any flavor sites. Thanks so much. Menthol is an important vaper flavor to a lot of people. I get tired of that dry mouth I get from vaping and menthol helps a little.

No problem! Glad to help. You may like the flavoring even a little stronger than that. DIY, a game of trial & error. Always better to start off less, and add more to taste if you find it not strong enough. I would attempt the recipe you want to do in a 3ml batch first, without any nicotine. That will be a good stepping stone to know if the menthol you make is strong enough for your use.

Just a note here, as I realized you asked about a particular brand just now. I'm unsure if there is any difference, but I buy my menthol crystals from ecigexpress. As far as I know, I use pure menthol crystals when doing my formula.

I have both drops and crystals and I prefer the crystals, they have a little more kick. According to what I was told, you mix 1 gram of WL Menthol Crystals into 10 ml of PG and then start at about 4% and go up from there if needed. The crystals come in a 15 gram bottle from John (WL) and should last a good long time. I mix Menthol juices for two people and a bit for myself and I have gotten almost 2 months out of the first 15 gram bottle.

Yes. With menthol I will be more careful and mix small batch to start. I got an atty for this purpose. I gather the crystals go a long way. Thank you. I am confident now to give it a go.

I don't spend much time on the forums because it had gotten to the point where I was spending too much time here and not enough getting things done. Plus I have moved on to the VV and Mods and only use my X2s for riding my Harley. Once you get the DIY stuff down the next step is to try some of the APVs like the Pro Vari , Lambo or one of the many APVs available. The advanced PVs are far better than anything out there and if you go the 510 route there are far more options for rebuildable tanks and the cost goes down again. I'm sure I'll pop in on the SI forum at some point.

I never smoked menthol stinkies, except one on occaision for variety. I do, however mix my parents' menthol nicquid, and have found their happy mix. It's going to sound CRAZY!...

1/2tsp crushed crystals
10ml PG
10ml PGA
Yield: ~27ml

I mix this @ 15% in their 20mg 50/50 Redman Gold Blend extract flavored nicquid.

This seemed to be the best method that worked for me

I filled my bottle 3/4 full and then filled to the top with PG,,,,,,I used 5% with 5% peppermint and it's great

I bought a 50 ml bottle of Everclear (small like in-flight bottles on an airplane) from a liquor store for two dollars. Then I dumped out half of the Everclear and added crunched-up menthol crystals a little at a time. When they would no longer dissolve by shaking the capped bottle for one minute, I stopped adding crystals. The undissolved bit at the bottom did dissolve after standing maybe twenty minutes.

I use two drops of this mentholated Everclear per 5 ml of juice. Then sometimes I add another drop or two per 5 ml of juice, depending on the flavor of the juice.
I add this to most of my juices to thin the VG a little. (PG makes my mouth and throat sore)
I hated menthol cigs, but like the menthol in my juice.

The only PG in my juice is from the flavoring base.
